Hi Sidd, ... Thanks for the "heads up" on upcoming signing events. I think that is a wonderful idea and I hope you will maintain a list in this thread of these events. Sometimes I have a tendency to check the HL Signing Event List at the beginning of the year then kind of forget about it. Thanks to your reminder I may try to make it down to CT this Saturday.

Keep up the great work!

..Looks like Bill has the week-end off? Bob, If you can't get to CT this week-end, Nancy will be at the Snow Goose in Plymouth on May 2nd.

----------The R-----------
Bill doesn't get the weekend off. Check my thread on Texas--he's there all weekend so let's hear from some Texans.

For those of you heading to MARVEL SHOP in New London, CT this weekend, the owner, Gail Grillo, is allowing collectors to have a swap-n-sell of your own HL pieces that day.

Could be a chance to pick up that lighthouse that you have always wanted but couldn't find as well as visit with Nancy (or is it Nadine, her twin sister, since New London is 1 hour away from Marlborough, CT I don't think one person could leave one place and arrive at the next at the same time).

I'll be there and hope to see some of my fellow HL collectors.

Ron, did you find out how she went from 1 store to the other at 1pm. Or was it her sister Nadine. INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!

Re: On the road to CT, FL and WA - 04/20/99 02:13 AM

Nancy (the real one) was at MARVEL SHOP on time, 2 PM. The hours for the first signing/event that day, in Marlborough, were 11 AM-1 PM, which gave Nancy the needed time to travel to New London. I thought for sure she would have problems due to the flood of people coming into CT for the NCAA Champions Parade, "UCONN HUSKIES". About 250,000 people lined the parade route. Actually, the parade drew some potential customers away from the event in Marlborough so Nancy was able to leave there on time to get to New London.

Spent about 1-1/2 hours at the event in New London. Gail, the owner, had some refreshments and plenty of door prizes. MJ & I were fortunate to win some HL stationery. We met Bob & Lorna McKeon (Bob has a nice photo gallery on this site) who won a Pemaquid, ME lighthouse by HL.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Becky Hopps who was busy getting Nancy to sign some of her HL pieces. MJ & I had about ten pieces signed by Nancy (she's such a peach and oh so pleasant to chat with).

There were plenty of other HL collectors at the event and we were able to recruit some of them for membership in the newly formed New England Harbour Lights Club. The club, by the way, has it's spring meeting in CT next weekend at the Avery Point Campus of UCONN, in Groton, CT. Elinor De Wire, noted author of many articles and books on lighthouses, will be the guest speaker.

Sorry for rambling on here SiDD, I think I answered your question a long time ago.
