Prayers for Herman..

Mary Heuvelhorst posted the following on the facebook Harbour Lights Page.. I thought I would copy and paste here for those of you who aren't on facebook..

Today is our day to ask you and yours for prayers!
Many of you know myself and Herman. We have been married for 33 years and dated for 8 years...many years together ...but not long enough.
Herman walked 6 miles a day for 30 years delivering mail to his 600+ customers. He retired July 2007.
Thru the HL years, we have attended all the reunions, several regionals, etc.
This past Saturday, my husband suffered a major stroke. Unbelieveable!!!
We are in Ann Arbor, Mi. at the University of Michigan hospital.
Receiving the upmost care,
Herman is in a coma. I am pleading for prayers for him to wake.
Our life together is a blessing..the first time I saw Herman was on a Sunday at Mass!
Please pray for us!

As I mentioned to Mary in my note to her, I am quite sure that there are many people thinking of and praying for both Herm and her. Let's also keep in mind the medical team at UM who is taking care of him.

I am very sad to report that Herm passed away this morning, I will add more information when I learn it.

How sad. Mary and Herm - some of my favorite HL people. Damn, I hate reading this kind of stuff! Thanks for keeping us informed here Paul. I wish I had more time and skill to keep up with Facebook.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 8.

Lighthousekeepers.com will be sending a plant to Mary in the name of our members.

Mary, you have a lot of friends keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. The planter will hopefully serve as a reminder of all that extended family and their prayers.

I was honored that the picture of Herm included in the remembrance card was one of him at some lighthouse event, wearing one of his Wacko badges!
