What are your plans for this unique date?

It's my high school 35th class reunion, and we are celebrating this event with a sunset cruise from Mackinaw City to Mackinac Island.

We are traveling to Mackinaw City from our high school (35 miles) via school buses.

Been planning this reunion for 7 months, and the weather forecast is for warm temps and sunshine! smile

Will be cruising by the retired USCG Mackinaw, and the beautiful Round Island lighthouse!

The sunset should be breathtaking as we cruise around the Mighty Mackinac Bridge!!

I hope your 35th Reunion was a great time! As a member of my reunion committee for the past 30 years, I know the importance of attending this 5-year functions and participating. It's a lot of work contacting everyone and setting it up. I have a good core of four people I work with and we've been very successful in planning a fun time.

Didn't do anything special on 07/07/07. We returned from Block Island and we're already planning our return for another week starting 07/14/07. What could be better than another week at my favorite island!

I thought it was supposed to be a lucky day.....

Wasn't that lucky for me. I ended up in the E.R with a serverely scratched eye. (Still don't know what got in it.) I tell ya, it's kinda ruined my week so far.

But hey, I'm not complaining. I can still see.

Mine wasn't as bad as Mike's, but it certainly wasn't good either!
It was hot as in heat index of 105, we put in our new front door and it was NOT a good experience. We must have lifted that door in and out at least 20 times before it fit and worked properly!!! I got stung by a bee and the swelling is just now finally going down.
The door looks gorgeous though!

Sorry to hear about all the bad experiences. Bet you all would have liked to have been at the 100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Westerhever Sand Lighthouse in Germany!

Our friend was there and sent us this lovely post card:

with the Westerhever Sand Stamps and a special canellation:

What a nice surprise! And it should have said "Whish you were here" ... 'cause we wished we'd been there! wink

Susan and I finally got on the boat again. It had been a full year. We went out to Cape Canaveral area. The lighthouse looks better with it's new paint even from the long view we get (It is about 1 1/2 miles inland.)

For those wondering, we had run the engine every few months to keep it in shape. The main reason we did not go out was I spent a lot of time going up to St. George to work on the lighthouse, so it was for a good cause (weather of course always knocks out a few days too).

Mike, it was a field stone opening.
