please pray for my Dad

please pray for my Dad - 10/03/07 10:33 PM

My father is very poorly and needs to go for more investigations tomorrow.
He has had three different cancers in the last two years and fought them off

Now the suspition is that the fourth one has turned up. And at 80 it is getting harder to fight!

We would all be very grateful for your prayers!
Thank You

My dad has had a few battles with cancer, the last one just a couple years ago. He's now 88 and doing fine.

Margret, we will keep your dad in our prayers.

Your dad and family will be in my prayers as well. Cancer took my mom at age 52 and I'm a survivor who will be Racing for the Cure this Sunday. God bless you, your dad and family at this difficult time.

Thank You ALL

He is doing a little better. The nurses started intravenous feeding yesterday and that perked him up a treat.

They are still testing to find exactly where the cancer is now and what they can do. But your prayers will help. I will tell him about them and I am sure he will be grateful!

Judy, good luck with the race! Hope you enjoy it! I sponsered someone for the race for life this year, but I can not run or I would take part!

still no real good news ... unless no news is good news.

They continue to run every test known to man, but so far they are not saying much about what is going on.

Thank you all for your prayers. They are much needed!

My Dad too is grateful! He was always part of a very special prayer group - for "men and women of the cloth" and appreciates the power of prayer!

Thought I'd add this picture of my Dad, because I always find it easier to pray for someone, if I can "see" them.

My father is doing ok-ish. He came home from hospital today. But they are still not sure (or are not saying yet) what exactly is wrong with his liver. So no treatment yet and still uncertainty...

Your father is a very nice looking gentleman, Marget.
It is nice to be able to put a face with the person that you are praying for.
Will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. smile

My father passed away at lunch time today! He fell asleep and just never woke up again.

I am on my way to Germany in a few minutes, but wanted to let you know and thank you all for your prayers! They were a huge help and comfort to us all!
God bless you all!

Losing a loved one is never easy.

Be comforted by your memories of the great times of his life and yours.

Know that he is without pain and suffering and is being comforted by God in Heaven and being welcomed by those who passed before.

My prayers are with you and Stan.

Margret,

Our prayers are with you.

My father passed away suddenly this past August so I know fresh in my mind what you are feeling.

Our time on earth is fleeting, for it is not ours to choose how long we are here. Be comforted to know he is without pain now.

God bless you and your family in this time of greif.

Re: please pray for my Dad - 11/20/07 07:01 PM

On the first Sunday in Advent 1985 the children from the Children’s Services gave this picture to “their Pastor“ Hans-Martin Herbers – my father - in his farewell service. Each child had painted or drawn one animal, cut it out and pasted it on to the scene.

We all thought, because the Children’s Services were such an important part of my father’s work, we would use this picture for our “Thank You Cards”

My mother and all of my family asked me to post this picture here too, because we all appreciate the support we received following the illness and death of my father.

Our grateful thanks to you all for your good wishes and prayers!

We're glad that you and Stan have safely returned home, Margret. The extended family here in the Collector Forums is truly a great one, and their support in times of need is always wonderful.

That picture is really nice, and I know it had to mean a lot to your father. To have "his" children each have a part in making the piece of art is very special.
