This weekend is the 16th Annual Harford County (MD) Farm Fair. They have judging in "Home Arts" and in the past my sister has won in the quilting and my brother has done well in the woodworking. This year, my oldest daughter, Kristin (age 13), decided to enter some of her art work. She entered two pieces.
She finished second in the 12-14 pen and ink drawing category:
The winner of that category was the overall champion.
Also, winning the colored pencil division, and being named Reserve Champion (basically first runner-up to the overall champion), was her drawing of West Quoddy lighthouse:
She wins $7.00, a red ribbon, a blue ribbon and a big purple ribbon.
Oh, and I won $4.00 and a blue ribbon for finishing first in the color photography/buildings category with my Concord Point sunset picture:
