Re: Julia Rose - 08/23/06 06:17 PM

I could take a really big cheap shot at this point at say that Bob gave up his head of hair so that Julia would have plenty, but I won't...

MaryAnn did share with me this tentative schedule Bob has planned for their new grandchild. Being a new grandparent, Bob wanted to be sure to introduce Julia to all of his interests:

Sunday: Keep Julia at home to spoil her
Monday: Take Julia to one of my baseball games so she can see the game played
Tuesday: Take Julia to a Yankees game so she can see how the rich folks play the game
Wednesday: Take Julia back to one of my games, have her sit with me in dugout to get that perspective of game.
Thursday: Let Rob and Heather spend time with Julia.
Friday: Time to start Julia on lighthouses. Visit Montauk today.
Saturday: Take Julia with me as I play a round of golf.
Sunday: repeat above schedule

Re: Julia Rose - 08/23/06 06:49 PM

I don't know about Thursday Dave? The whole day?
I usually play baseball on Sunday and golf during the week but you pretty much have it down.

Re: Julia Rose - 08/23/06 07:05 PM

Julia's Mom & Dad are avid Yankee fans who went to about 1/2 dozens games in the bleachers together so far this year(so she's already been to Yankee Stadium). I expect that Julia may be at opening day next year as her Dad, Rob attended the 1st 3 home games this year. smile

Julia has light eyebrows and may soon lose all this dark hair and become a blonde. Dark blue eyes so far which will also change. eek

Julia's Aunts were very good baseball players, and competed in boy's leagues (before there were separate softball leagues for girls) as all stars so she has a large group of mentors(pitcher/shortstop & catcher). wink

Re: Julia Rose - 08/23/06 08:01 PM

Congrats to all of you!! She's darling! Michael was 7lb, 15 oz, and 19 inches, although they measured him at 21 inches at his one week checkup... smile

Re: Julia Rose - 09/19/06 04:32 PM

Julia was 1 month old Sunday, and celebrated in her Yankee cheerleading dress.

Julia was born the night before the Yankees' 5 game series sweep in August which ended the season for the Red Sox.

Re: Julia Rose - 09/19/06 05:00 PM

Is she a pitcher Bob? The Yanks can use all the help they can get. Could have used her in the 9th last night... wink

Re: Julia Rose - 09/19/06 05:50 PM

My son Rob rubs her head for good luck while they're watching the games Sue, so she's making her pitch often.
Paul, the good news is we'll(MaryAnn) will be watching the baby when Heather goes back to work so GrandPa will be having a lot of input soon. lol wink
Great doesn't describe it!

Re: Julia Rose - 06/07/07 07:04 PM

Julia stands, dances, struts with and without help. She has not convinced herself to let go BUT when she does she'll be runing. Walking has not officially happened but it's up to her. I let her do whatever she wants, ready to catch a misstep. She likes to explore and look at everything indoors and out. Yesterday I pulled her in her radio flyer red wagon. Much better than the stroller! And she was in her pool last week. She hasn't made her mind up about grass. Somedays it's sticky, other days it's fun to pick.
Posted By: 5lights

Re: Julia Rose - 06/07/07 10:10 PM

Sounds like you enjoy her immensely!
It's fun to watch them when they get into grass for the first few times. It definitely depends on the day as to whether they like it or not.
My youngest grandson, Koleton, loved to sit on my lap and play with the grass. The first time he walked barefoot on it...it was like he was walking on hot coals! Now, you can't keep shoes on the boy.

In the caption, I was talking about the trick pitch that Julia was throwing Paul.
That is a pretty neat cheerleading outfit. I'll be happy when Julia fits in her first pinstripe uniform.
