Update on Dennis Whelan - 09/05/03 04:50 AM
I received an email from Dennis' wife Esther indicating that his double by-pass surgery went well. She indicated the doctor was very pleased with the surgery, and that Dennis "was talking and joking while waiting for his liquid dinner." (Somehow I would think that his liquid dinner and what Mombo would consider a liquid dinner are totally different things. . . .) He was experiencing a fair amount of pain, but hey, he just had major surgery!
Thanks to all who have kept Dennis in their thoughts and prayers. Please continue to do so during his recovery. Esther expects him home by the weekend, and that he won't waste any time getting back online!

I'm not spending much time on the computer- can't sit like that long yet.
I got out of the hospital midday on Monday. They don't keep you long these days.
Things are going well- very tired and sore, but basically fine.
I'm going to be in the background fro a bit, but wanted to thank all of you fro thinking of me and Esther.

I'm getting closer to normal every day. The doctors are pleased with my progress.
I was hoping to go to the NJ Lighthouse Society meeting yesterday (9-27) but I developed a minor infection in my leg and decided against it. (This is not an unusual occurrence- especially in diabetics).
I would loved to have been in NY. I had my plans made months ago, but sometimes things come up. At least I'm still around to complain about it.
