Dave assigned me the job of being Mombo's Beer Runner at the Regional on Long Island due to my breaking the rules on the No Envelope Postcard Exchange.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it so Mombo needs someone to fetch her a beer now and again. Lighthousing is thirsty work.
Hope all the plans come off great for the Regional and the before and after Regional activities. I thought for sure I'd make this one being so close to home.
I'll be off the Computer starting early Thursday morning until next Tuesday or so. I should be out of the hospital in 5-8 days. They try and kick you out ASAP these days.

Last I heard, Mombo wasn't going to make the Regional.
My plans have changed, too, and I won't be making it to this one.

It is so hard to believe the lengths you went to, Dennis, to get out of being Mombo's Beer Runner (MBR). I guess you heard from the last couple MBR's who had physical, emotional and mental breakdowns after their turn in the barrel.
I guess we can start a bar tab in John's name and have them send it to him after the regional. Wonder if we can top the Rosemont 2002 tab????

We are having fun here, folks. Please don't be concerned as we pick on poor old Mombo about her drinking and all. The bar bill we send to John will probably be only 4 digits or so, so it should not be a big deal for him.
It is amazing the lengths we will go to in order to bring fun and excitement to these Forums!

I would be your MBR :rolleyes: ...just can't make it to this regional. Sure hope you all have a great time...I'll be thinking of you all and wishing I were there too

Bob, Is that the regular ice cold case you travel with? Or will this be an extra on Sue's behalf?
And hey if John's buying at L.I. maybe I could squeeze it into my busy schedule, and I think Tim has an appointment with the optometrist tomorrow to get fitted with a new pair of beer goggles, so he should be ready for John's generosity too (no Fallstaff, premium beer only when John's buying)

Well, everyone's off the hook for beer runner as I'm not going to make it to the Regional.
Guess I'll just wait until next year and Dennis can have the job.
