30th Wedding Anniversary

This Sunday will mark 30 years since I walked down the aisle of a church, on a rainy Friday night, and married the love of my life. During all the ups and downs of our life together that love has never changed.

1972. We know what Mary & Jeff were doing; but where were you? I had just started my own business with a partner. I was driving a 1971 Silver Pontiac Grand Prix and before the year was out, took a camping trip from Michigan to Cape Cod.

How about that - we share an anniversary! We're a little behind you, at 23 years.

I was in my second Sophomore year of College. I had dropped out for a year after starting my first Sophomore year in 1971.

This would be a fateful year for me- I took a job in the College Library as the person who sat at the exit and made sure nobody took anything out without checking it out

In January a new girl started working behind the desk. A Teacher/ Librarian major getting some more practical experience. Her first name was (and still is) Esther, but she has a different last name now - it used to be Boldizar now it's Whelan and has been for just over 28 years.

I never made it through Junior year, but at least she Graduated.

In 1972: graduated from high school started my first legal job, as a "bank employee", purchased my first car: a 1971 Mustang, (that's another story), dating my future husband, etc. . . .

Jeff and I took a ride on Sunday afternoon to look at the lights at St Joe and South Haven.

In St Joe the Coast Guard was going out in their inflatable and their small cutter to do an exercise in the waves. It was pretty rough out in the big lake.
