New addition to the family

New addition to the family - 03/27/04 01:11 AM

Some of you might have noticed that I haven't made too many posts in the past few/many months. (At least Big Dave has!) There is a good reason for it! Sorry, no new cats or dogs! I was thinking about showing the new addition at the next gathering or reunion, but a few know about it and sooner or later, it would get out!

Ryan Edward Kremer was born on Feb. 17, 2004, weighing in at 7 lbs. 8 ounces! If you don't believe in miracles, you need to go to a nursery in a hospital! He is a perfect little baby and to think at our age, plus Karen was sick alot during the pregnancy, that he would be free of any birth defects!

We have a three bedroom house and one bedroom has always been my office and lighthouse room. Not anymore! I have been working all these months adding two rooms in the basement, and doing all the work myself, except the electic. It has been a chore to say the least! It is coming along slow but sure and soon I will have my office downstairs.

We will have to send someone a picture to post here, since I have yet to figure out how to do it! My wife is the computer expert and she even has trouble.

It has been quite a life change, since Andy is our only other child and he is now nine! Both of us had to be retrained and the sleepless nights are back, at least for her mostly, since I'm the only one working now!

Lighthouses are on the back burner now, except selling off my doubles lately. I'm in the same boat as most here in saying I have run out of room and only about half are on display.

Lots of changes here, so if you wondered where I have been, I'm still around, but not as much as in the past!

Wow! Congratulations you guys! You may have lost your office/lighthouse room Randy but you've gained so much more. (Easy for me to say as my kids are all grown up! wink )

Please find the time to check in with us now and then (between diaper changing?), we've missed you.

WOW! You did say a big surprise was coming but I didn't expect this! Congratulations Randy & Karen!

We have a new addition in our family too. He is Aidan Lawrence McKeon, 8 pounds/10 ounces, and was born on January 18. He certainly is a cute little guy. He already weighs over 13 pounds! He is our third grandson.

Congratulations Randy & Karen. laugh Karen must have been pregnant when we saw you in June for the Grand Rapids regional event and you might not have even known then!

BTW...Ryan is a very nice choice for a name (since that is the name of my only son) smile

Congratulations Randy & Karen!

I vaugely remember that aspect of children- my youngest is 25.

I now understand why you had to bow out of more active participation in the Wacko Pin commitee.

Congrats Randy, and a welcome goes out to the new Buckeye. He happens to share his birthday with a great individual......me! LOL

Congrats also to grandpa Bob!!! Keep him off that boat for a little while.

Our second child is due in August. We got the results back from the amnio, and we are having another boy. A little brother for Sean to pick on eventually.

Good luck with your sleep schedule for awhile!!

Re: New addition to the family - 04/04/04 05:16 AM

Thanks everyone! As an update, at the six week mark, little piggie Ryan weighed in at 10 pounds!

Andy might be having second thoughts when little brother starts getting into his stuff down the road!

As a side note, the day after he was born, a set of twins were born, a boy and girl, weighing in at 9lbs, 7 ounces (boy) and the girl at 7lbs, 7 ounces! The nurses said they have never seen twins this big before!

Haven't been around much myself and just read your great news, Randy and Karen. God has blessed you again. Big brother will be such a help. My girls are 10 years apart and I remember how many times the oldest came to my rescue.

Let Andy know that this big brother thing has its plusses and minuses...BIGTIME. I think the latter is a little overpowering, though.

From a fellow oldest sibling of nine years...

Re: New addition to the family - 04/05/04 12:52 PM

Congrats on the new addition to your family. That is wonderful news!

I'm one of those babies that came along 9 years later too! It was a bit rough growing up as my sister liked to play "Mommie #2" all of the time but now, it is great to have an older sister who still likes to play "Mommie #2" at times to both myself and my younger sister.

My newphew is just learning what it means to be an older brother too. His new brother is 12 years younger than him. And so far, he still likes being an older brother. I hope so as he has been asking for a brother or sister for years!

I don't think I've ever of twins that large, either! My munchkin was 10lb. 2 oz. - I can't image two that size! That poor woman must have been miserable!

Congrats on the new arrival!
