Bob spilled the beans in another thread that August 16th marks the 34th Anniversary of their marriage.

Let's see that was 1968, if my math is right. In addition to wishing them a Happy Anniversary, tell something YOU remember from 1968.

I was stationed with the US Army in Pforzheim Germany.

1968? Yeah, alot of people were very unhappy over a place called Vietnam.
I was 12 and living in a ghetto, I had other things to worry about.

Happy times...we were both in college and engaged to be married in 1969.

Sad times...Vietnam war...many of our friends were serving in the military.

In 1968 I was a sophomore in High School working part-time and right about now that year I was traveling across Ontario to a small town called Stuergeon Falls to visit some relatives.

1968 - Since they were married in August, I was between Junior and Senior years of high school. I was working at the local pharmacy full time and not doing much else. I was a very dull teenager.

About this time of 1968 I was very blessed that my
Army husband had just returned from a tour in Vietnam. We moved to Laurel, MD where he was assigned to NSA.

1968 - Junior/Senior years of college in Fort Lauderdale (yes, I said Fort Lauderdale). Trying political times, Vietnam, assasinations, SDS, campus closing,etc. Somehow I found a way to tune it out for brief periods of time on the beaches and ball fields of Florida. I guess that's why I missed your wedding. :p

1968, well let's see. Beside all the political and social things that others have already mentioned that was of all things the year I met my husband-to-be. But heck, we didn't make 34 years, nor 24, not even 14. Guess you two know the secret!
