Prayer Requests for Larry

Prayer Requests for Larry - 10/11/05 09:28 PM

Larry will be seeing a cardiologist on Friday Oct 14 to set up a date to have a Cardiac Cath done. After having a questionable stress EKG done, his family doc had a CT Angiogram done which showed that he has an area with 'primary stenosis' in the right coronary artery. We are praying that a stent placement is all he needs. We would appreciate all the prayers we can get but we know the Lord will be with us and see us through this. We are looking at this as a blessing in disguise since it would have been completely missed if his family doc had not wanted a stress EKG done to just check on things when Larry went in for his annual physical. God works in mysterious ways. Thanks for you prayers and support.

Kat,

I had one of those (CAT) done last spring and ended up having two stents put in. You're right when you say it is a blessing in disguise. My doctor had moved to another state and his replacement, a new young doctor, was just what I needed. He diagnosed my problem, sent me to a Cardiologist and everyting went fine. If I hadn't had it done, God only knows if things may have been worse someday. The actual procedure was really very easy to handle. Our prayers will be with Larry and with you. Keep us posted on how things are going and when the procedure will take place.

Kat, you and Larry will be in my prayers... After my husband Terry had a heart transplant in 1996, he had the Cardiac Cath done just about every year until two years ago...now it's just every other year that it is done. The part he hates the most is having to lay still for 6-8 hrs after. The good part for Larry is that they can probably fix his problem.

Kat,

Larry will be in my thoughts.

I've had the Cardiac Cath, the stent installation and the bypass and I'm doing just fine these days.

I'm sure it will go well for Larry as well. Hopefully all he will need is the stent.

Kat-

My prayers and thoughts are with you and Larry. Not having the personal experience of some of the other posters, I did some Googling on the subject of Cardiac Caths. I thought I'd share the link, for those others who are curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronary_catheterization.

It's great that you were able to catch this ahead of time - stopping it early is always best. And specialists are always the best resources.

Best for Friday...I'll be thinking of both of you. smile

Can't thank everyone enough for the prayers that are going up for Larry and I. The people we have met during out lighthousing adventures have been without a doubt the absolute greatest bunch of people anyone can get to know and care about. God Bless You All!

Just before heading up to Michigan City after getting off work I received an email with some really great news... I will share it with you..

Quote:
Hi Paul,
Well it was a long day but a very GOOD one. Larry came through the cardiac cath with flying colors. We arrived at the Heart Pavillion at 08:00 am and he was wheeled away for the cath at 12:30pm. He was back in his room by 1:30pm and the cardiologist came in and gave us excellent news. NO BLOCKED ARTERIES he is what they call "clean". He said that the CT Angiogram must have showed a false positive but everything looks great. We got back home around 4:30pm and Larry has kicked back and just taking it easy. He can't do to much for the next 48 hours. He isn't too sore but, we have to watch the catheter insertion site for any sign of bleeding. Thank everyone for us for all their prayers.
Love,
Kat

Absolutley the greatest possible news. A couple of days rest and be up and about with plenty of energy to spare now that the worrying is over. Our prayers to thank God for the great outcome smile will be said.

A false positive, eh? Well better safe than sorry I guess. So it sounds like Larry's been doing things right and that's good! smile

Re: Prayer Requests for Larry - 10/25/05 12:14 AM

Actually, the discussion this weekend was that it must be Kat's fault if Larry was stressed out.... of course, the recent wedding probably helped. Maybe the bills came in just before the test?

Still good news that all is well with Larry. He and Kat were missed this weekend.
