Mackinaw Brass Name Plates

Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 07/08/06 09:19 PM

I don't make the brass plates but I have an excellent source for these plates. The plates are made of a material that looks just like brass on a nylon backplate. They are the same size as the original brass plates that came with Anchor Bay ships and even have the Anchor Bay Logo etched on the plate. The plates are $16.00 including shipping. I am going to have my plates made up to look like this:

USCGC MACKINAW
"290' Great Lakes WAGB"
112/4000

and

USCGC MACKINAW
"290' Great Lakes WAGB"
112/500

The lettering will be centered of course and will show up black on the brass background. They are professionally done by a trophy place and look like the original brass plates.

I will be ordering my plates during the middle of August timeframe. Anybody that wants a nameplate can send me an email now to flacoastie@worldnet.att.net and about 2 weeks before I place my order I will let you know and you can send me a money order with the total amount($16.00 for each plate) to me. I'll need your serial number to place the order. If your interested please don't wait until after I order as it is simpler(and cheaper) to do a one time set up and run several. Individual orders are $19.00 each. If you want a plate for one of the other Anchor Bays that don't have them you can order them for the $16.00 each at this time.

Lighthouse Depot isn't even shipping my Mackinaw until August 18th. frown

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 07/09/06 02:56 AM

I will wait to order until everybody(or at least the majority) of those that email me ahead of time telling me that they want one have sent me their numbers. The people that want one can send the money order ahead of time and then email me their serial number(s). If I have to submit two orders the cost will still be $16.00 each. What I'm trying to eliminate is someone sitting on the fence, trying to decide and after people start getting their plates, then that person say they want one. This will cost that person $19.00 for a special setup.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 07/09/06 04:01 AM

Sounds good.

I do have another problem, I have an eight day business trip starting August 20th. I will probably call Lighthouse Depot and see if they can hold off shipping my Mackinaw until a few days before I get back.

I do want a brass plate, but I'd hate to hold up everyone else from getting theirs.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 07/09/06 05:20 AM

I'm sure if you call Lighthouse Depot they will tell you the serial number they will be shipping to you. As long as I have that and the money order I can go ahead and order for you. The plate and the Mackinaw can both be ready when you get back.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 07/09/06 05:35 AM

I will do that.

Hopefully they will have them to ship by the 18th. I've been down this road with LD and HL before. When they came out with the Montauk Point lens, they pushed the ship date back three times.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 08/27/06 02:23 AM

I'm bringing this to the top because I have decided to order the Mackinaw plates in 2 different orders. The first order will be for those of you that already have their ship(s) and know their numbers.

The second order will be for those of us that may or may not know their number and want to wait until they know the number for sure.

Email me by Friday September 1st if you want a plate(s) in the first order and send your money order for $16.00 per plate to Rich Felter, 3440 SE 28th Court, Ocala, FL 34471. Please have the money order arrive by Tuesday September 5th.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 08/27/06 07:23 PM

Rich, I am sure you told me you received my money order, but I thought I'd doublecheck. My glass cases arrived yesterday and both of my Mac's are situated in them - on my dining room table. I need to make room for them, so I am rearranging things today - while doing some much needed cleaning - yuk! frown

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 09/13/06 04:24 AM

The 1st sets of brass plates for the Mackinaws will go in the mail tomorrow for those of you that ordered them. I am starting to collect the names of those of you that want a set in the second batch. The second batch will not be ordered until the Mackinaws are sent to the dealers and you have them in your hands. It looks like that will now be sometime in October.

Tom - I'm glad you like them, but, now for the bad news. I talked to Kathy today at Harbour Lights and she said the Mackinaws are now delayed until November 15th. They'll make some nice Christmas presents and at this rate it may be Christmas 2007.

Bringing this to the top for the benefit of those that have not seen it before.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 12/16/06 06:32 PM

I have seen the work done by Rich's contact on these name plates and they are excellent quality. Look like the real thing. They are made of plastic, but you wouldn't know it to look at them -- only when you touch them.

The 'brushed' look is great.

Now if you're using Bob Ott's source for the cases, where do you put the plaque? One possibility: inside the case centered in front of the ship.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 12/17/06 12:59 AM

Inside the case is one option but I have talked to others and they center it on the outside of the glass using the double sided stickey tape provided with the plate.

Bringing this to the top again for those of you that now want to order either their Mackinaw or any other Anchor Bay brass look-a-like plates.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 01/08/07 02:54 AM

I just placed an order for several Mackinaw Brass lookalike nameplates along with an order for an Eagle nameplate. I will be placing another order toward the end of January so if you want a nameplate(s) they are $16.00 each and that includes postage. Contact me if you are interested.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 01/09/07 03:05 AM

Rich,
I am waiting on my matching Mac's to get here so I can see the number and order plates for them from you.
But I need to get the Mac's shipped first...so send the Eagle plate once you receive it and then I can also get these ordered from you.

Just giving you a head's up that I will be looking for 2 more plates soon.

thanks!

BTW: Why did Anchor Bay stop shipping these with plates? Just curious...

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 01/09/07 05:38 AM

Bob - Your Eagle plate will be shipped as soon as it is complete. Hopefully Friday will be the day. I will place another order towards the end of February so you should have your Mac's by then.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 01/09/07 06:27 AM

Bob, I think the glass cases were stopped to allow for a significant price drop in ABs. Haven't heard much about breakage in shipment, and I know that the original packing was very snug fitting to protect the glass. Without cases there was no need or place for the name plates.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 01/09/07 04:02 PM

Thanks Rich, for doing this for us!!!
Thanks for the explanation, Dave.
I kind of understand the thinking but with these...well, I guess there are many people that still display them without an individual glass case...maybe in a curio cabinet...and I guess that is where the tent card comes in to play.
I need to check my Eagle...do these come with tent cards?
(sorry, just thinking and typing out loud)

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 02/06/07 01:39 AM

Just bringing this to the top again. I will be placing an order for Mackinaw nameplates the 3rd week in February and then won't be placing another order for at least 2 months or sometime during the end of April. Soooooo, if you want any nameplates(Mackinaw, Eagle, etc.) and your walking the fence, please order now or you'll have to wait until the end of March.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 02/07/07 05:01 PM

Rich,
I just sent you an e-mail on ths topic...

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 02/09/07 02:39 AM

IT'S NOT TOO LATE !! I now have approximately 12 plates to order and more coming in each day. If your not sure what your number for the Mackinaw is, just send me the money order and when you get your number, email me. If I've already placed the order in February, I will place another one to get your plate(s)even if it is March..

I'll be placing another order for Brass Name Plates for ANY ANCHOR BAY that you may want a plate for. The order will be placed the 3rd week of March. $16.00 for each plate so he that hesitates is lost.

Re: Mackinaw Brass Name Plates - 01/17/08 04:32 PM

I'm bringing this to the top again if your interested in lookalike brass plates for your Anchor Bay pieces. The cost is $16 apiece including shipping. The plates are almost an exact duplicate of the original brass plates that originally came with Anchor Bays but made of plastic. You can send me a money order for the plates($16 for each plate) and also include what Anchor Bay you need along with the associated serial numbers. I will be placing an order after the Overfalls is issued. Any questions, please contact me.
