Thanks so much for the link, HCS. Now everyone can see what we are all excited about. They really look great, and if I am not mistaken, a long neglected practice (of humanizing the light) has been reinstated on the Ponchartrain light with the picnic spread and bicycle. I have always been particularly fond of those personal touches. I hope they announce the sizes soon!

Thanks for the link too! These new releases look great!!! Very nice detail on all of them. Even though they are a bit costly, I will still be ordering the new X-mas piece. :)

My local HL dealer emailed me over the weekend that my pieces are in.

Can't pick them up till Friday, as he's only open on weekends now that the Summer tourist season is over.

Re: 2011 Summer Releases - 09/30/11 03:09 AM

I received the my pieces that I order from my dealer yesterday. UPS is fast on the East Coast.

My special Cape Ann (Thatcher Island) piece with accompanying "special" Gorton's Fisherman box finally arrived. Whew, that was a long wait but worth it! The twin towers are a bit on the skinny side, but overall, the piece is MAGNIFICENT! I dedicate this particular piece in my collection to Jim's wife, Anne, from Cape Annie's..... Thank You!!

Also, received the North Point, WI and the Squaw Island, MI Christmas piece.

Looking forward to any future news regarding HLs in 2012 in the next coming months. I am still waiting to see a Harbour Lights replica of Winter Harbor, Maine LE, but realize that this may never happen....

Re: 2011 Summer Releases - 09/30/11 02:39 PM

Got all 5 pieces from The Bronze Lady in Orlando yesterday. Squaw Island was the most impressive to me, but, all pieces except one were a little toooooo pricey for what you got. Another nail in the coffin for HLs if they continue these prices (if they are around).

Re: 2011 Summer Releases - 10/01/11 02:06 AM

I just got Thacher Island. I am dissappointed in the quality, especially for the price. For example, the felt is not lined up with the bottom, blue paint is slopped on the rocks at various points (not part of the water), the tracks are askew and three are not flush with the roundabout, the black paint on the balcony was slopped on the bottom of the lantern room and the south tower seems to be listing to the left. I have always been impressed with the quality of HL. This is the first issue I've had after 200 plus HL replicas. I'm curious - does anyone else have a Thacher Island piece with quality issues or is this piece an anomaly?

Re: 2011 Summer Releases - 10/01/11 06:40 PM

With well over 500 HL's I have never even HEARD of a piece with sloppy workmanship. I surely hope this is a fluke! In any event, I have NO DOUBT that all you have to do is contact them with the problem and they will make it right. I do not agree with all they do, but they have some really good people who are proud of the company and want us to be happy with what we buy.

Re: 2011 Summer Releases - 10/02/11 09:40 PM

Allen - I really looked over my Thather Island to see if my piece exhibted any of the flaws that you taked about and the only item that I saw was the one track next to the boat house was not lined up exactly with the track going in the opposire direction but it appeared that it is supposed to be that way.

If your unhappy, contact HLs at 1-800-365-1219 and ask for Patty. I'm sure that she can take care of you.
