Add the regional piece, Racine Reef to that list.

Dealers in the Northeast should begin receiving these pieces by mid-week next week (the 18th). The container has arrived at Harbour Lights and is being sorted into the warehouse.

Thanks for the update, Dave.

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 07/24/07 02:38 AM

Racine Reef and Old North Church are being shipped separately to the dealers. As soon as they have shipped all of the Racine Reef pieces, they will ship out Old North Church.

We have not received Racine Reef yet. Hopefully, tomorrow.

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 07/26/07 05:55 AM

These are obviously Harbour Lights dealers hiding behind the anonymity of eBay, concealing their true names and locations because what they are doing is a violation of their dealer agreement.

Taking off their masks involves determining which number pieces they are selling. They know that so they don't include that in their posts and they won't respond outrightly if you email them to ask.

If you buy from one of them, they are taking business away from dealers who stay honest to their agreement.

I like the idea of the historic buildings,looking forward to the Old North Church. I would love to see one of Ellis Island to put next to Lady Liberty! smile

Glad to hear John C. expressing this sentiment.

About a year ago, we were involved in a discussion on CF about new pieces showing up on E-Bay. We were saying the exact same things that John is saying now. Since we are a HL dealer, I'm sure there were many CF members who were thinking "Oh, he's just a dealer cryin' the blues." Since then, we have seen many posts about "your latest Harbour Lights." We recognized some of the flag numbers as being ones from these "bad dealers."

Now, we have no intention of mentioning these flag numbers, or to bring attention to those who purchased them. We just hope that, with John's comments, you'll realize that you are not supporting Harbour Lights, but jeopardizing the future of Harbour Lights.

If you want to help out the "legitimate" dealer network, we encourage you to purchase a new piece from one of these "bad" dealers. Then, e-mail John C. or Tony C. with the flag # of the piece, and they'll be able to track down the "villain."

It's embarrassing to admit that two of the 6 or 7 major "bad" dealers are from our own Cape Cod & Islands area. One used to be the #3 dealer in the country! Pretty sad.

Does anyone know when the new Christmas ornaments that Harry designed will be out? Also any clue as to the HL numbers? There are six of them.

I am also looking forward to the release of the new ornaments. I hope Paul does some closeup pictures of some of them to see the detail.

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 07/28/07 05:41 PM

CM101 - St. Augustine, FL
CM102 - Cape Hatteras, NC
CM103 - Old Mackinac, MI
CM104 - Prtland Head, ME
CM105 - East Brother, CA
CM106 - Fire Island, NY

The latest HL brochure of the new releases pictures these ornaments, but it's still tough to see any detail. Haven't heard an exact arrival date yet.

Thanks, Jim. I must not have the latest brochure but I did see a couple when Harry was here. They are really nice and I think they should be a big hit. I have mine on order but I get all my information from the Forum and then let my dealer know what to expect!

This week I picked up my Racine Reef & Old North Church pieces.

Both are exceptional !!!

The Racine Reef piece may be my favorite 2007 LE.

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 08/02/07 06:35 PM

I picked up Annisquam this past Saturday and I must say I really like this HL. The detail just gets better and better, the boards on the bridge to the light, and the stone work on the back steps of the Keeper's quarters as just a few examples.

After giving this further thought. IMO I'd rather see Harbour Lights focus more on lighthouses then historic buildings, even if its a NJ historic building. There are hundreds of more lighthouses to be done first, then they can get into the HB's.

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 08/03/07 03:54 PM

You have to remember that Historic Buildings are a separate line that makes use of the technology HL has developed over the years. They help to support the HL line so they really are a good thing. You won't see lots of HB introductions, but nothing wrong with sharing the craftsmanship with other.

Lots more lighthouses to make, but not ones most people have heard of before.

While we lighthouse lovers are tuned in, Harbour Lights is looking to expand their horizon. I'd guess 9 of 10 of those who are real lighthouse enthusiasts know the product. And it appears our numbers (the lighthouse lovers) are declining.

Having HL successful in a "new" area will assure that they can continue to make smaller edition sizes of the lesser-known lighthouses while not making any more "re-issues" of lighthouses previously made.

Tony worked closely with the people at the Old North Church (which has a gift shop BTW) and the piece went through more than one modification to keep it "accurate". Old North Church also receives a royalty on sales to help support their preservation program. "Good works".

Giving the Old North Church a "Historic Building / HB" name and product number eases up on the pressure for "got-em-all" Harbour Lights collectors to spend the $99.50 on this one.

I expect we'll see another dozen limited edition lighthouse / LSS / Anchor Bay products for 2008 in smaller edition sizes in line with what we saw for 2007.

I'm wishing them great success with the Historic Building idea. It could be a wide-open field of monuments, memorials, churches, historic homes and significant government buildings. Buy or not as you choose and if you like 'em. Don't expect to see a lot of them each year. If the quality is in line with what we've seen in lighthouses and the choices are appealing to a larger audience, they will do well.

I've not visited the Old North Church, but I'll be buying one.

Here's Paul's photo. I bet we can talk him into some great detail shots!

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 08/03/07 08:11 PM

I have no problem with Harbour Lights doing more HB's. I love my Old North Church. I'm staring at it this very moment. I plan to collect all the prior HB's as well.

As long as the HB's are in addition to the current lighthouse LE's, GLOWs, & AB's.

Ellis Island would be very special to me. My grandparents came through it in the early 1900's. I grew up only a couple miles from it(as the bird flies).

Can we expect the same amount of LE's, GLOW's, & AB's for 2008 to be the same as 2007 ?

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 08/03/07 08:15 PM

I got word that my Hospital Point is in but Racine Reef still hasn't arrived. As far as historic pieces but a bit more modern, I would like the National Cathedral in Washington DC with its gargoyles and spires.

For the record, the 2007 totals are:

* 19 LE's (Includes CS, Regional, & Lens)
* 5 GLOWs
* 1 Anchor Bay
* 1 Historic Building
* 4 Limited LLOM's (corrected thanks to Paul)

Did I miss anything ???

4 Limited LLOM's, I believe..

Pointe Aux Barques
Thomas Point Light

I'm doing my part to keep HL collecting from declining. I'm close to forming a collectors club here in Jersey. Looks to initially be over 25 members. I know thats a drop in the bucket, but we all know what many drops in the bucket does!

Is this a possible hint that there's a LSS to be released next year?

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 08/05/07 05:51 PM

I have no knowledge of 2008 releases - just covering the bases.

Here\'s my source for the dozen LEs It does include the Fresnel, doesn't include the AB, Society, Store and Regional Event Pieces or the Christmas Piece.

What's still to come has already been rumored and will be announced in the next 60 days - an Anchor Bay and something else.

It's great you're organizating a NJ collectors club!

Re: New Release Expected Arrival Date - 08/05/07 08:02 PM

John, My LE totals post wasn't to prove you wrong, you know better then anyone on this board. You just made is sound like you knew what was instore for next year and that there was only 12 LE's including the specialty's(lens, CS, Christmas, etc) for next year eek . Twelve base LE's plus six or seven specials are a fair number to look forward to each year cool .

Is it really going to be up to 60 days till the AB and last LE are going to be announced??? I thought Tony said it would be in the next Musings, due late August. confused

Just got the old north church, bought two actually. Great piece. The second was for friends of mine. They got engaged in front of the church. I know the HB line is not a big hit, but I think it's a great idea! Still like the ellis island idea.
