Christmas Arrives Early

Christmas Arrives Early - 08/26/00 07:30 PM

Just returned from my HL Dealer. Boy I must have been good so far this year. Came back home with Eldred Rock--finally the long awaited Alaska lighthouse; Cape May GLOW--can't wait to see it up close and personal in a couple of weeks; Fort Gratiot--the one I cannot pronounce; and Hereford Inlet, the Christmas piece--another one I will be seeing up close and personal in a couple of weeks; nice surprise with the Christmas piece was a cute little coin, almost missed it tucked down inside the packing; good thing Big Al noticed it. I will leave the reviews of each piece to Bill H.

Glad to hear that Fort Gratiot and Hereford Inlet are now shipping. Means I should at least have the Fort Gratiot in 10 days or so. Can't wait to add them to the collection. Guess I'd better start looking for loose change in the sofa and other places.

My dealer got his invoice for all of the above yesterday. He tends to get the actual pieces 2-3 days later.

I have gotten swept up in the Eldred Rock frenzy, and MUST have it.

Fort Gratiot...don't think so, but I'll wait until I see it. I've climbed it so maybe it'll stir up the endorphins in my brain (produced in the area known as the "Visa-bellum").

Hereford Inlet. Ah, yes, Hereford Inlet. I'm looking forward to this one. The Harbour Lights publicity photo I saw doesn't show the strings of Christmas lights around the framework of the house. The ad in Lighthouse Depot's latest catalog does. Boy, does it make a difference. I shall scoop this one up post haste.

Stay tuned for some ribald and rambunctious reviews which, as usual, will be right on target...and give Paul some fodder to pounce on.

Bill,

I, like many others, eagerly await your next pronouncement. In fact, I wish more would attempt to do what you do. I think your average is not 75% but in the high 80's.

Keep up the good work!

Hey Bill,

Don't get too excited about the Christmas lights on Hereford Inlet. I received mine today and there isn't any lights. I am guessing that either Harbour Lights had them on an AP and later removed them, or the lights in the Lighthouse Digest pic were put on by them.

They are not on the LE release.
