Xmas LH & ornaments arrive

Xmas LH & ornaments arrive - 09/25/04 06:52 AM

Picked up the #719 Christmas piece Bodie Island & the four 2004 Fresnel ornaments from my dealer tonight. The Bodie Island piece is nicely done and includes a snowman with stick arms just outside the tower. It also includes such little touches as a sled (I think), wreaths on the porch, and footsteps in the snow. The new twist for this year is the fact that it lights up most of the windows in the house, and four of the five tower window in additon to the flashing lantern. It is kind of a nice touch that the house and tower appear more of an normal incandescent light while the lens light is a more blueish type of light, thus giving it some variation.

The ornaments are also nice and includes two lenses that have not been issued as LE's yet (any guesses on the next LE lenses). I especially like the Yorktown Lightship one that even has the latch and hinge on the top. The really nice touch is the fact that they are open on the bottom and if you put a miniture light in them and it should look nice. Now if they only made it so they fit tightly, and that coupled with a flashing bulb it would look pretty realistic. I am looking forward to adding these to my lighthouse tree this Christmas season.

Thanks for that info, Dick. I'm looking forward to adding those pieces to my collection. The Christmas pieces are some of my favorites. I only display them from the weekend after Thanksgiving until mid-January, and then they go back into their boxes for storage until the next year.

It's hard to believe that summer is over and Christmas is just around the corner. Where does the time go?

Bob,

I've noticed that the older I get, the faster the time seems to fly by. I think that I missed the Fourth of July completely.

Bob (both of you), it sure is terrible to know that the end of summer is here and we are in the fall season. The only good part of this is that the leaves get quite nice this time of year, but it also gets colder. Age does seem to have quite an effect on how fast time flies. I think the saying is "too soon old, too late smart." I'm sure there are others, but I for one am enjoying these senior moments.

I forgot to mention that I'm looking forward to the Bodie Island piece. Haven't seen it yet, but it should be in the area soon enough. Another senior moment! laugh
