2002 Society Gift and Exclusive - 01/08/02 03:53 PM

O.k., now that I have your attention!

Anybody have any guesses, hints, insight, wishes for what the next Society Pieces will be?

I know I'd like to see a Great Lakes Society Gift, since thats one area they haven't done yet. How about Ludington Pier light, or Kewaunee Pier light.

As fr the exclusive, how about one of the many shoal / reef lights. DeTour Reef, Poe Reef, 14 ft. Shoal etc.

Anybody else?

I have mentioned this before, Wisconsin Point would be an outstanding society piece.

I thought there were 2 Lighthouses from New York mentioned at the Reunion for the Society Piece and Gift. Am I dreaming, psychic or just confused and forgetful?

Hey Sean, ...It sounds like you might be suffering from the initial stages of old age called "CRS".

"Can't Remember Stuff"

I personally don't recall hearing anything about the Society Piece for 2002. Of course, I'm already in the intermediate stages of "CRS".

Weren't the 2001 pieces from New York (Coney Island, Cold Spring Harbor)? Don't get me wrong, I would be fine with 2 more from NY...but I wouldn't think that HL would do such a thing.

Personally/selfishly, I would vote for another Connecticut light...how about Stratford Point, Green's Ledge or Penfield Reef Light?

I suggest a Delaware theme.

How about the 14 foot Bank could be the free membership give away and the Indian River LSS could be the Society Redemption piece.

-Or-

Back to a Chesapeake Bay theme...

Where Wolf Trap, VA or Turkey Pt, MD could be the membership give away and Cape Charles, VA with its metal framework could be a Society Redemption piece.

Hummmmm.... I see lots of possibilities. I would also favor a MAINE combination!

I would think a California light is long over due. How about Fort Point gift and East Brothers Island as the exclusive?

I hope you heard right Sean but wasn't that 2001! I'd love two in a row for NY!

I know, I know, but for some reason I thought I heard the new Society Piece mentioned in Baltimore. I don't know. Anyway it will be a surprise!

My "vote" is with Dale - I would love Fort Point! It was the first California lighthouse I ever saw (of course, we didn't go there to see a lighthouse - we went because it was an old military fort - i never objected when my husband wanted to take folks to see the "fort"...I knew that, in addition to great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay, I'd get to see the lighthouse!

I agree with Chris. I would like to see a Maine combo with Isle au Haut Light as the Society Piece. It is also one of the few lighthouse Bed and Breakfasts. I would like to see Saddleback Ledge Light as the Membership give-a-way.
