Lobster Floats Anyone?

Lobster Floats Anyone? - 09/15/00 11:00 PM

I finally received my set of Bill & Nancy Lobster Floats today, so I thought I would share them with everyone here in the forums.

The first photo shows Bill's favorite floats with S.E.B.I. shown for size comparison.

The second shows Nancy's favorites with Minots Ledge as the backdrop.

I like them! Not only are they inexpensive ($5.00 for six floats), but they look great in the curio.

Sean,

I haven't seen them at any of the dealers here in Bay City or Saginaw, MI. I got them from my autoship dealer in Flordia. I requested them when they were first introduced, but just now recieved them. My dealer included a note with the floats saying that she initially received some that were damaged and had to return them to Harbour Lights. I guess that might explain part of the delay.

This is the funny part. I requested a set of Bill's and a set of Nancy's floats. What was received was a sealed bag containing 5 sets of Bill and 5 sets of Nancy floats. I guess I have a few sets to send back to my dealer....

I like the lobster buoys, too. Living on the Maine coast, they're an everyday part of life here.

One of our local dealers tried to put a $6.95 price tag over the $5.95 suggested retail price put on by Harbour Lights. What a weasel.

Actually Bill, they are supposed to be $5. I have yet to see the floats around here. I did pick up a set of Nancy's favorites in Pensacola when we attended the Bill event there. Unfortunately, they didn't have a set of Bill's favorites.

I think the lobster floats are very nicely done, especially at $5 per set. They add some nice color to your display.

Dave, I'll go ya one better. I had put my lobster floats in the curio a while back, well last week I noticed that one of my Boston figurines (George Washington I think) was checking traps near Gay Head and Rose Island and had a few nice sized lobsters in the boat all ready,

Check his license, Mark! If he doesn't have one, let me know and I'll cuff'em and stuff'em!!!!

I had to request my local dealer in Utah order the lobster floats. I never saw them in the store for purchase and still have not seen them available at the store even after I had them ordered in for me. I am guessing that they were an optional item for ordering and that all dealers did not place orders for them unless by a customer request.

So, Mark, maybe George & the gang can haul those lobsters over by your Seven Foot Knoll and other Baltimore area lights & have a lobster boil. Kinda like getting ready for the reunion festivities.

p.s. - don't let 'em get too big a fire going there on curio beach.....

Well some of you may have "Bill's Favorites" or "Nancy's Favorites" but I believe I am the only one to lay claim to a set of "I.O.'s favorites"! He made a set out of left over pieces of balsa wood. "Bill's" are strung on a piece of goldish yellow cording and strung across the front of the top shelf of a barrister bookcase that has HL's in it. "I.O.'s" are on a shelf of HL's.
