Virginia Earthquake - 08/23/11 09:36 PM

Survived the 5.9 Virginia earthquake just fine. However, I was at work so it will be awhile before I find out how my condo did.

Quite the adventure for folks in the US not used to these happenings of nature. Virginia and Colorado and the same day (well, within a few minutes of the same day). Glad you are OK, hope the condo is as well. Same goes for all our members out in CO.

Fortunately, never felt a thing in Franktown or at work in Centennial.

My sister who lives in Hampton VA (about 90 miles southeast of Richmond) said they thought some military exercise was going on, did not give it a thought. They are more concerned with Hurricane Irene, looking forward to the rain to put out a fire that has been burning in the Dismal Swamp too long and wrecking havic with the air quality - sometimes so smokey looks like fog. Not looking forward to the wind though.

I think I may have been mowing at the time so if I shook I would have thought it was the mower...
