Approximately 1200 people from 22 states and 4 Canadian provinces showed up to watch the Norfolk eagles be released into the wild. However, only two of the eagles were successfully released to the wild. NX (as this eagle was named) did not gain sufficient altitude and ended up landing in a parking lot. The Wildlife Center captured NX again and took her back for evaluation, thought is too much stress, heat and this eagle was handled more than the the other two as she had a transmitter attached. Release will be rescheduled. You can go to WVEC.com and view the release of two of the eagles.
