Your Favourite 1993 HLs - 09/23/05 02:34 AM

Continuing on with the "year-by-year faves" threads, we're on 1993, the third year of Harbour Lights.

All seven lights this year were from the Southeast. Here the are....

My faves...this year, ALL of them. Even though there weren't that many pieces this year, each of them is great and detailed. Some of them, like Tybee, St. Simon's, and Ponce, seem a little plain, but they make up for it in detail, pretty good I think for 1993.

What do you think about the Harbour Lights Class of '93?

I would have to say Ponce Inlet. I am a bit bias on this one as it is about one hour from my house and have climbed it enough times I have lost track. laugh

Ah yes, the ever-so-treasured southern belles! My favorite is St. A's, than Hilton Head, love red on lighthouses. Tybee & Ponce are my favorite when it comes to tall towers.

Ocracoke. Hands down. Love the accurate off kilter of the lantern room.

Most definitely for me, it's Ocracoke!

I most definitely agree with Judy and Mike. Ocracoke is my top choice hands down. Maybe someday I'll get to see it.

Saint Augie for me! The Southern Belles were my first major collection accomplishment in 2000. wink I'm disppointed with all the additional releases of StAug since. Quantity not quality!

I look at where all the participants to this question live, and I see that they all live on the east coast with only one living as far west as Illinois. I would assume many of you have seen at least one of these magnificent lighthouses, so I feel you have me at a disadvantage. I just went down and looked at the seven of them I have displayed and just couldn't find one as an absolute favorite. I would probably agree with Bob about St. Augustine followed closely by Hilton Head with Tybee and Ponce de Leon for the tall towers. Definitely the hardest year to pick a favorite.
