UK Little Lights?

UK Little Lights? - 04/17/05 04:07 PM

I have an email from a couple in the UK interested in locating more "Little Lights" showing UK lighthouses.

They sent photos of 2 which they have: "Lundy Point" and "Longstone." The bottom paper labels on these indicate they were released or made in 2000.

Does anyone know how many and which UK "Little Lights" were released by John Hine Studios?

If you have any of these "Little Lights" from the United Kingdom, please tell us which lighthouses you might have if they are different from the two previously named.

I believe there were a total of 10 small lights released. This is what I was told when I went "shopping" for my British Isles Collection. I think BOBO has the complete set and if he reads this post should be able to give you the names.

What are "UK Little Lights"? Are they special, UK-only LLOM? Or are they like the Pharos collection, not tied to any line, but UK-only? Why all the UK-only collections, anyway, if most of HL's collectors are in the US?

That's more questions than I meant to ask.

Bobo - do you have pictures of them? I'm curious as to see what they look like.

Greg,

No I don't -- at least at the moment. They are the same relative size as the HL LL's, cost $22 each, and do not have Issue Numbers.

Actually, I never thought to take pictures when I received the pieces. In fact, I didn't even have a camera at the time. I do own a digital camera now and will take some pictures, but I am reluctant to even try to post. I've had so much trouble in the past trying to post and it took me so dang long to do it, that basically I just gave up and have been content to merely look at the postings of others.

By the way Greg, I'm not the only one on the Forum who feels this way. Maybe you can come up with a simplified procedure?

I'm going to poke around. I agree. Although I know how to do it (seemingly one of the few of us who does), I have tons and tons of photographs that I have never posted because it is such a pain to do so. I have seen forums where there is a box at the bottom of the post screen where you just insert the URL of the image, and it posts. I am going to look for something like that.

The optimal would be to have a button in the post which, when clicked, would bring up a normal screen that is used to open files in any Windows programme. You could then find the images, and it would resize them and compress them for the forums. Then, it would put the link in the post, and you're off.

I wonder if such a thing exists...or if not, something close. I'll look. smile

Too bad that English Little Line series got cancelled - that's a cute one! Thanks for showing it.
