ANY TWO DIGITS WITH ZEROS IN FRONT. - 01/20/04 06:22 AM

I would like to know if any of you two digit owners have two digits with two zeros in front of them.
Has the two digit always been the format for numbering or has four digits been used at some point with zeros filling in the void.

Thanks to a couple of my fellow members here at the CF, I've been on double-digit autoship for quite awhile.

Most every piece I receive has just two digits on the flag#, except for two, Boon Island and Absecon. They came through with two zeroes preceding my two-digit autoship number.

All my regular (6 pieces that are 2 digit) have just the #XX and no zeros. My Stamp Set is #A033.

I've been autoshipped #35 for several years. None of my pieces are preceeded with 00's. Frankly, I had no idea that the variation existed. Interesting! confused

I knew this one sounded familiar.

Here's a previous thread, albeit a short one, discussing the zeros.

Now here's the question, does every two or three digit Boon Island have a flag# preceded by one or two zeroes?

Mine does Bob, #0560. I see now that I didn't pick it up until a few days after the last post in the other thread.

I have a Canadian # 0012 Ponce De Leon L.E.
And an Absecon New Jersey number 0066.
I got a chance to show Kim my 0012 Ponce and she called the numbering system on it “Place Setting”
She said some of the early lights were numbered this way and immediately they would stop it and have them numbered without zeros in front.
I then showed her my Absecon with the “ Place setting”
She knew nothing about the newer lights having this type of numbering system. She said she would get with Harry with quality control and look into this more.

I also just saw a Hilton Head on ebay with the number 0191

Does anyone else have an Absecon NJ with a zero in front of its number?

My Absecon has the Flag# 0087. None of my autohship #23 has any zeroes preceding the number.

Speaking of flag#'s preceded by zeroes, I just received a HL159 Bodie Island with flag# 0675, MIB. Until this time, I never heard about Bodie Islands being numbered this way.

Is there anyone out there with a 3-digit Bodie? Could you let us know if the 3-digit number is preceded by a zero? Have I become a recipient of a possible rare piece?
