I went looking for the New Bedford and came across the Nantucket??? Never found the New Bedford.


Next stop Palmer Island, as close as I could get


Bulter Flats


Clark's Point


Then back to the cape with a stop at Wing's Neck (this is a private residence so this is as close as I could get....


Last stop.... Nobska

As for the New Bedford, it should have been visible when you were driving down that road that borders the west side of the harbor. Perhaps it has been moved? I did miss the Nantucket, though.

Jim. As of August of this year The New Bedford was docked about 2 or 3 wharfs(toward the harbor entrance) below the dock where the Martha's Vineyard Ferry sails from. The crew on the ferry said that it was listing, and that it was under disputed ownership, so that they were having trouble getting someone to work on it.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Nantucket LS, there is more than one of them. Here's the link for one of them that was completely refurbished www.nantucketlightship.com . Another Nantucket Lightship was docked next to the Town Dock by the USCG Station in New Bedford. I looked for it earlier this year and was told it was moved to Fairhaven which is across the harbor a considerable distance. I was short on time so I never got a chance to look for it.

What is the exact location of it now?
