When posting Multiple Images...

Please simply add additional images as a REPLY to your own thread, rather than creating a new thread. While there is a limit of 8 images in one POST, there is no limit in how many images can appear in total in a thread.

If you want to have members' comments appear at the END of your string of posts, then create a NEW POST, put the word "Hold 1" in the body ONLY.

Then, before you start to post any images, reply as many times as you need to that same thread, using the words such as "Hold 2", "Hold 3", etc. for each subsequent post. (I've added some additional replies to this thread as an example.)

This system will enable ALL your pictures to appear in one continuous string of posts with the comments at the end.

You can use this technique even if it may take several days for you to post the various total images. Hold more than you need if you are not sure, you can always delete the unused posts later.

I notice that I'll look at less photos because I have to click on each individual thread. And with broadband, it's so fast today, it doesn't matter.

And for those on dial-up, now you don't have to load all those extra pages, just the photos in one pop!

Good idea, John...I'll agree, after a while, "My trip part 32" can get a little tiring.

However, there is a caveat that goes along with this . . . . if you do it this way please be sure that you do as Dennis has - use some amount of compression on your images. Set them for 72 dpi with a max of 600 pixels on the longest side. Remember that we still do have people that use dial up and if they encounter a thread with 32 images at a meg and a half each, they will be loading that thread for the better part of a day.

I remember that Paul did something like that with at least one of last year's trips - maybe both Tidewater and Maine. His pictures all showed up together. Or am I having another one of those brain lapses?! :rolleyes:
