Lake Ontario Lights - Part 1 - 04/13/04 09:32 PM

Well, it's time for me to finally post my photos from my trip around the Lake Ontario Lights.

So, between Ogdensburg to Sodus Point, my friend Liz who was visiting from the Denver area and I saw 14 lights. One was Windmill Point in Canada which we viewed from the Ogdensburg side and one was the Clayton Memorial light.

First up was Ogdensburg Harbor. This was my 250th lighthouse seen. It was rather windy and extremely cold out there first thing in the morning. But, we would end our day with even stronger winds at the breakwater in Sodus.

A distant view from a service road of the Crossover Island light was next on the agenda.

Sunken Rock Lighthouse and the Castle on Hart Island were our next stop. We searched the shoreline in Alexandria Bay until we found the best spot for photos.

A quick stop in Clayton led us to the Clayton Memorial Lighthouse. Small little thing and a pain to photograph as there are power lines in your way at every possible angle for this memorial.
