This was really a trip to Rehoboth Beach but you know...
First day was Thursday June 23, leaving at 6am and traveling down the Jersy Shore.
First stop Barnegat but did see Coney Island and others in route. First time to Barnegat what a deal. No Parking fee and only a dollar to climb. State owns, maintains and operates. They do a good job. 9am.
Next stop Atlantic City! What a dump! Only highlight was Abescon LH in the middle of a very depressed neighborhood. Nice LH and grounds, well maintained, and friendly group. Climb to the top $4 with AAA discount. Supposedly a half price discount coupon in local coupon book. Up to the top. Nice view but not the view of 'Ol Barney'.
Final stop of the day was Cape May before the 230pm ferry to Lewes. Can I climb 3 tall towers in 3 hours? Nope! My knees when I got out of the car were killing me!
Ferry to Lewes Delaware gave me some up close views of the two harbour lights through my 70-200mm., I found the replica of Cape Henelopen on Rehoboth Ave which lights up at nught.
A trip down to Fenwick Island followed on the next Tuesday, and a trip into to Lewes to see the lightship was also squeezed in Wednesday morning at 830 am.
Saturday, July 2 found us heading to Baltimore for our GodDaughter's Wedding. Tried to get a new shot of Sandy Pt LH but park admision is now up to $6 a passenger. Last time I was there it was a freebie. Save this one for an off season return.
