We awoke yesterday to snow outside our window, it was snowing a little in Yellowstone, so we packed up and headed toward the West gate and Idaho.. Once we got to Idaho we drove out of the snow.

We were cutting across the state to visit the Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve.. It is a huge National Park as it is the size of Rhode Island..

It is made up of lava flows from fissures in the earth and not a volcano..

Today we left Idaho in a drizzle and it rained off and on but in between we did have some really nice moment driving up the east side of Oregon to our hotel in Pendleton, OR... Pendleton of Pendleton clothing fame....

Having lunch right now near Portland.. We just went to some waterfalls in the area East of here and of course the only time it was rainy and overcast all morning was when we were at the waterfalls..

The drive over following the Columbia River was great.. I will load up some images when we get to our hotel..

I finally got back to internet access today, right now in Seattle waiting for our room.. I am in Derith's room which was ready, Sue's bugging me right now as we are doing laundry today until others arrive for a gathering at Anthony's for dinner as a group, then lighthousing tomorrow with 30 others..

Here's an image of Umpqua Light that I shot in the rain on May 29th so I tried an effect called single image tone mapping HDR on it..

And of course one from inside the Fresnel..

After spending the night in Amanda, WA we had breakfast at a lodge in Olympic Park, then headed North to the Makah Tribe's Museum in Neah Bay, WA.. Sue wanted to get some actual Native American crafted gifts for our Grand-daughters; we had been there in 2001, before Grand-daughters.. The flower shots are from outside the Museum, no pictures allowed inside, sorry it is a fantastic little Mueum..
