Beyond 2006....

Beyond 2006.... - 05/04/06 03:22 PM

Time is definitely flying, and soon we will know the new releases for the last six months of 2006. The last-half releases may very well be the last of the Younger & Associates influence over the Harbour Lights line.

The future development of releases will then fall into the hands of the new owners. Will there be changes to the new releases as to size or quality? Will the edition sizes change? Will they make more of each? Will they make less of each? Will they balance the amount of releases so that each section of the country will be equally represented? Will they eliminate the practice of re-releasing LE's of a light that has already been represented with a limited edition? Will we see more "lost lights"? What could be the latest innovation added to the already high quality lights that will get collectors excited?

So many questions must be running through the minds of collectors. What do you think will happen? What would you like to see happen? Tomorrow will be yesterday the day after today.

Whew... that is a lot of questions.

I would just like to know what the second half of the 2006 releases are.

I am concerned about the path Lighthouse Marketing (LM) will be going in the future with these lighthouse replicas (not sure if I call them Harbor Lights as the labels on the new lights DO NOT even say Harbour Lights anymore), but on the other hand, I am living day by day right now as a collector in this crazy economy.

Anybody have an answer to the lablel issue on the new pieces. If Lighthouse Marketing purchased Harbour Lights and now own the trademark and all that good stuff, why are they not called Harbour Lights anymore, at least on the label anyhow? Screwy....... Darn, now I have questions... confused

Are theese replicas going to be LM's? for Lighthouse Marketing confused confused

Chris,

The label on the Mussel Bed Shoal, RI Society Exclusive I rec'd. today has Harbour Lights and the copyright date of 2006. I haven't rec'd. any of the new releases as yet (my dealer gets them signed first and ships them all at the same time), so I don't know if they have labels like you describe. Does seem strange that the name didn't "go" with the sale.

Sandy

P.S. The label on the box shows "Lighthouse Marketing LTD" and a copyright date of 2006. Earlier in another thread someone mentioned that the red lettering on the most recent boxes was missing from the 2006 pieces. The label on the sculpture does not refer to Lighthouse Marketing LTD at all.

The name and logo are part of the assets of the company purchased by Lighthouse Marketing Ltd.

There were some labels prepared by Younger & Associates early on which referred to "Lighthouse Marketing".

However all labels in the works now for the June releases indicate "Harbour Lights".

"I See", said the blind rat....

Thanks for that tid bit info.

The new pieces that I have must have the early "in transition" labels on them.

-Mystic Seaport, CT
-Owls Head, ME
-Graves, MA

Are all the pieces listed above have this "Lighthouse Marketing" label on them or was only a certain number of them have the this label?

I imagine that the full run of these 'transition pieces' as you've named them will have the same lable. Even though the full production run hasn't been made yet. If it turns out otherwise, I'll try to let you know.
