Heard any good rumors lately?

With the next round of introductions coming in early January (maybe late December if you attend the right chat) we should be knee deep in rumors about now.

Not from any reliable sources, but I'm thinking we might see another Coast Guard Anchor Bay boat in January. And sometime in 2002, I think Jim Johnston's lobbying will finally pay off with a sculpture of Pottawatomie WI.

Is it time for another Gulf Coast Lighthouse? Look to the Little Lights to get an idea of what might be coming.

And there are still some nice California lights to sculpt. Will this be the year Point Vicente comes out? Point Montara? Point Reyes?

What's your speculation?

All your news sounds good, John. The collecting crew from the northeast region of the country were well rewarded in 2001. Hopefully, we'll be thrown another bone in the form of Race Rock, NY.

We're running out of Florida lights but I am still waiting patiently for Mayport Light. Also, from my hometown, looking for Erie Land Light(Erie PA.) Everytime I call HL I ask them WHEN these lights are planned. Last time I called they said be patient, maybe 2002. I think they might have been referring to Mayport because they have it out as a LL.

Running out of Florida lights? Not just yet. There are all of those beautiful reef lights (no 2 of which are exactly alike), Loggerhead Key, and several interesting towers along the FL gulf coast. And, of course, there's Mayport (St John's River) light. At the Reunion I asked Harry Hine if the LL version of Mayport was an indicator that a full-size LE was in the works. Needless to say, Harry artfully dodged and deflected the question. I, for one, hope a Mayport LE is a 2001 release.

Old St. John River (Mayport) would be great but I am holding out hope that Point Vicente and Point Reyes. There are still some other great California Lights left like Point Sur, East Brothers Island, Point San Luis, Point Bonita, Point Hueneme, Anacapa Island, Point Conception, Piedras Blancas, Santa Cruz, Fort Point, Farallon Island, Punta Gorda, Cape Mendocino to name a few.

I'm still hoping that HL will consider both Old Presque Isle, MI and 40 Mile Point, MI.

Bill spoke at our Bay Beacons club meeting in Annandale Va yesterday and said that Harbour Lights will be coming out with historical buildings as well as lighthouses in the future. It is a new trend they are going to try. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.
The historical buildings will be under the name of Y & A.
