Need Reunion to fuel the fire!

Need Reunion to fuel the fire! - 01/16/00 05:00 AM

Does anyone else feel we need some actual reunion news to rekindle the HL spirit? Things have been too quiet lately. It appears to be a buyers market right now. I know we have plenty of diehard HL fans out there hunkered down waiting for something to happen. The question is, when will it happen?

That's the word from the East Coast where we're covered with snow at one below.

Bob

Iam from New Jersey, and also waiting for the word to drop.My gut feeling says it is going to be BALTIMORE.

Check the last chat for some hints on where and when!

Hi Monty, ...I missed the last chat so I haven't any clues regarding the next reunion. Maybe I should take a moment to read the "minutes of the last meeting". I would love to see it in the Baltimore area. I've never been to that area. Lots of great lights to visit there.

But even more lights in the Great Lakes area!

Hi Dave, ...I agree with you too regarding the Great Lakes having some great lights. But, which Great Lake? I don't think the reunion crew could handle more than one "command post" to be our base camp.

And, if it were in Michigan it doesn't matter which direction they were coming from there would be plenty of lights to see!

Maybe we could model it after one of those progressive dinners and just move from lake to lake - take a couple weeks or so. Find out who really wants to attend! Or, how about one lake a year for 5 years. I wouldn't complain.

Dave

Gee this is #500. Now if Bob & Mombo will only take a break I can make some headway!

I still like the idea of a tour boat full of HL'ers cruising the waters of a Great Lake (or two)...but not if there's going to be 1000 people aboard...

Hey Dave, ...I'm riding with the emergency brake on! Keep posting and you'll take over the lead in no time. I've developed another hobby of collecting Lionel Trains so my posts have slowed slightly. Still buying all the new HLs though....anxiously waiting for another reunion!

Can't answer you Dave, or I'll gain another post!

Hey Mombo,

You have an interest in the Chili's Restraunt chain? We had dinner there tonight and on the menu I noticed ths "Mombo Combo". How your fame just keeps spreading!

No "Chili's" here Dave. But I love that new song, what is it Mombo # 5 or something? Gets you jumping without the beans!

I don't live in Michigan (was born and raised there, however)...but I'd like to see a reunion at Mackinaw Island or in the city of Mackinaw. In addition, I'd like to see HL do "Sturgeon Point" located in Harrisville...or the "Saginaw River Range Light" located on the Saginaw River near the bay. I'm sure they would sell fast.

Hey Brent,

I'll definately echo your sentiment about the Saginaw River Rear Range Light as a Harbour Light piece! Hopefully our restoration of the lighthouse will be nearing completion or compleated by the fall of 2001. She would be looking her best for anyone who wanted to stop by and visit.
