MJ and I just signed up for all four locations (NJ, MD, VA & Hooper Strait). We had a fantastic time on John's tours in Rhode Island in 1998 and look forward to joining many of our Harbour Lights Family again in 2001 on these tours.

I signed up for the Virginia tour. I indicated I wanted to charge my credit card but was not asked to supply the information. Will I need to call the number provided to give my credit card info?

This is our first reunion and we couldn't be more excited. Terry and I are signed up for three of the tours NJ, Hooper St (Sun) and VA/DE. This trip should be really fantastic. We can hardly wait for next year to be here.Thanks again John for setting up the tours.

I just registered Larry and I for the Oct3rd and 4th Lighthouse tours. We can't wait, if they're as fun as the last one's everyone is in for a terrific time.

Well I was a little late getting to it but I hope I will get to go on all the tours. My pc has been down, but I'm back.
Thanks John for organizing all this. This will probably mean I will see more lighthouses this trip than I have seen in my whole life. I'm so excited!!!!!!!

Gail, I am with you on that. So far in my life I have been to 1 lighthouse and am truly excited and looking forward to next October.
And getting to meet fellow WACKOS will be a wonderful bonus!

NJ Tour - 40
MD Tour - 33
Hooper Strait Combined 43
DE/VA Tour - 38

We're close to reaching our minimums. One full coach is 56 individuals (larger coaches than originally planned.)

And we're continuing to refine the tours to maximize what we can see and add a few unique things that you might not be able to do on your own.

I am interested in where people are planning on staying (before and after the reunion) in order to go on the lighthouse tours. I am looking for nearby hotels and possibly sharing transportation to the bus for the lighthouse tours.

I will be driving a van & would be glad to take anyone that is flying up from nearby hotel to bus tours. I think I will be staying at Quality but not sure yet.

Gail - Which Quality Inn are you looking at? I could try to get a room at the same or nearby hotel if that would make carpooling easier.

Suzanne, not sure. I'll try to nail something down this week & let you know. But any where within 5 miles I'll come get you.

As of today, we've filled one coach for the Wednesday New Jersey Tour with 50 lighthouse lovers. Registrations after this will be put on a wait list for a second coach.

7 seats remain on the Maryland tour (Piney Point, Drum Point, & Cove Point) for Thursday.

Only 4 reservations have been made for the Thursday morning Hooper Strait tour. (This is primarily because this tour conflicts with the Maryland tour.)

5 seats remain for the Sunday afternoon Hooper Strait tour and 9 seats remain for the DE/VA tour on the Monday after the reunion.

If you've been thinking about these tours, now is the time to reserve your space.

I do expect that we can fill a second coach for each of these tours. However, I do not think we can provide a 3rd coach because of the logistics of bringing so many people to each stop at one time.

Thanks everybody for your support. I'm looking forward to seeing many old friends from the 1998 tours -- and meeting several people for the first time.

Harbour Lights will be doing another mailing to Reunion Registrants sometime after January 1 and will be including a flyer about the tours then. Those on-line have a few more weeks to register before our off-line collector friends begin signing up.

Several have asked about an alternative hotel for the day or two before the reunion and the day or two after.

One of those who will be riding along is a travel agent and did some sleuthing for me. She found two alternatives:

Tremont Plaza and Tremont Hotel
Both have AAA AARP and Senior Rates of $129 plus tax. These are about 6-8 blocks from the 'Inner Harbor' waterfront. I don't know how far from the Reunion hotel.

If you'd like to check on availability and price for rooms, give them a call:

Tremont Suites 410-727-2222 is at 222 St. Paul
Tremont Hotel 410-576-1200 is at 8 E. Pleasant St.

I have not visited these hotels so I can't speak about the quality, etc. If any locals can check them out and give us a report, it would be appreciated.

I still have not heard from anyone to see if we are going to get to go on the bus tours. I might be worring for nothing, but would like to know if we were to late or not. Do you know how I can find out?

John, for the life of me I cannot remember where these tours will be leaving from? So, what will the meeting point be for the tour departures on Wednesday and Thursday? I am anxious to get started planning and reserving.

We'll be leaving and returning to the Reunion Hotel - Inner Harbor Marriott Waterfront hotel.

We just returned from a short trip to Arizona and found your message. I will call you tomorrow. Hope your message is telling us we are on the tour.

Here's an update on reservations for the Coach Tours:


[*] NJ tour - now 78 reservations. We're committed to two coaches and depending on whether they are 40 or 55 passengers, we'll be able to we can handle either 80, 95 or 110.


[*]MD tour - now 69 reservations. Same other info as for NJ.


[*]DE/VA tour - now 59 reservations. I expect we'll get to at least 80 when those attendees who are NOT online get the information about the tours next month from Harbour Lights.


[*]Hooper Strait tour - only 10 for the Thursday morning tour, and 69 reservations for the Sunday afternoon one. We might be able to use a smaller coach if we don't reach 40 for the Thursday group tour. But that one may fill up too.

My feeling is that we won't be able to handle more than the two coaches on any of these tours because we would be overwhelming each lighthouse as we drop off 80-110 people at a time.

If you're thinking about these tours, but haven't yet made a reservation, now's the time to get your name in.

In answer to some queries I've gotten, coaches are non-smoking. If you are a vegetarian, we'll be able to accomodate your dietary needs.

For those who've sent checks as deposits, those were deposited about a week ago. For those who provided credit card information for reservations, I hope (finally) to be set up to actually accept charge cards in about another week. I'll email you when the initial charge has been made.

For those of you who have already made reservations for these tours, you are IN. We still have a few more spaces.

If you registered and used a credit card for payment, I will be charging the card in the next few days.

When the charges have been made, I will mail you each a confirmation of the tour reservation and charge or check payments received to date.

We are filling up and the New Jersey Lighthouse Tour only has 4 more openings.

There may be a couple of cancellations, but if you're thinking about it and haven't signed up yet, better hustle:
