"Sign our guest book" needs some attention!

I just visited the WWW.harbourlights.com web site and was checking out the "Sign our guestbook" thread. It seems there is some unauthorized advertising being done there, some of which is not appropriate for children. Time for those links and responses to be removed!

And, they were worried about having a link to the Collector Forums upsetting their dealers!

I'm having the same problem with the guestbook on our OBLHS site.

I'm told by our webmaster that they are coming from overseas, but they are not a pleasant sight for new people visiting the site for the first time and definitely not for children's eyes.

Do the culprits use some sort of program to add that garbage to web sites that allow people to leave a message, or do they have to individually go to each one and type it in?

If you Google "guestbook.htm" you'll find over 169,000 hits.

Cut and paste and you've provided a link to some website or other.

There may be someone who's automated the entries, but I don't know.

I have the same problem at my web site, I have to at least check it weekly.
