There are several 'portals' to the official www.HarbourLights.com web site using the frames approach.

The left hand frame is used for navigation buttons and short messages. The right hand or 'main' frame brings up the selected page in most cases.

You can examine each of these pages and pick the one that works best for you. You can create a link to that page from your 'favorites' or make it your 'home page'.

Start Menu / Harbour Lights Calendar:

If anyone would like to have the navigation frame on the left open with "Harbour Lights" or "Collecting" or "Lighthouses", let me know and I'll set up those choices too.

Whichever choice you use to visit HarbourLights.com, throughout the site, clicking on the "Home Page" (on the Navigation Frame) or "Harbour Lights" on all other pages will replace the entire window with the basic home page -- Group Navigation Buttons on the left, Calendar on the Right.

You'll note that when you click on some links, the page opens in a new window. To return to the previous page, just close that window.

Hi John,
Here's my question. Lets say I'm looking at the Catalog of Lighthouses and want to see that page in a whole window without the left hand navigation bar, is that possible? I open the forum in a window all by itself and like not having to scroll side to side. I realize with the www.harbourlights.com you need the navigation bar to get around but is there any way to minimize it while viewing internal pages. Thanks

Orv,

One way to have full page viewing is by using the "no frames" version of the Harbour Lights Homepage. You will have a full screen view and maintain your "aids to navagation".

Follow the link below to the no-frames version:

With Microsoft Explorer, if you hold down the SHIFT button while clicking on a link, the linked window will open in a new page.

In Netscape, right click on the link and choose "New Window".

In either case, you may have to maximize the window.

This tip works great when reading the forums. Leave the list of forums up and shift-click on the name of a forum that indicates messages you haven't read. If there are more than one message to read, shift-click on the first and close the window. Shift-click on the second and close the window. etc.
