Which is your preference?

Which is your preference? - 07/25/00 08:18 PM

When you access HarbourLights.com, there are two different 'home page' windows. One features frames, the other does not:

www.HarbourLights.com/default_NF.htm
www.HarbourLights.com/default.htm

When you use the 'no-frames' home page, clicking on any link results in that page opening in a new window. My idea was that you could review something and yet always have the home page in the backround. You can close the new window and be back -- ready to review another page.

This is similar to the 'Frames' home page. When you click on a link in the left panel, it changes the content of the right panel.

Which home page do you prefer to use? Frames or No Frames?

Would you prefer that from the No Frames home page, information REPLACES the home page or continues to OPEN IN A NEW WINDOW?

Also, please indicate which browser and version number you are using. (While your browser is open, click on the HELP word, then choose "About....". This should reveal the name and version number of your browser.)

Thanks for your input.

Using Netscape 4.73 and MSIE 5.0.

I have the no frames version bookmarked. I don't know exactly why it is so, but I don't like frames applications.

Imo, if someone is going to seek out and open the no frames version from the home page, they will probably no longer need the frames window open.

I am using Netscape 4.73 and prefer the no frames page to the frames page. It might be easier to have the new page replace the home page, but I can certainly live with either. Thanks John.

John I am using a 21 inch monitor. I prefer the No Frames Home Page. It makes navigating the site much faster by having all the selections in view on the Home Page. I can never remember whats where on the Frames Menu.

Thanks,

Sean

Just to be different I use the frames version. I use MSIE 5.0. The rest of what you said I don't really understand. You folks decide what's best and I'll just tag along.

I use Netscape 4.61 and prefer the frames version. But if the crowd wants no frames, I won't complain.

Wow - seems almost unanimous so far. But I'm not giving up on those who like the frames approach.

I have begun to make the No Frames version the 'default' default page. And begun to make the 'Home Page' buttons point to the no frames home page. It may take a few weeks before All of them are converted over -- especially with a vacation starting tomorrow.
