Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/19/12 06:48 AM

LD uses a 5 digit Item #, the last 3 digits are the HL number. Or, drop the 42 and put HL in its place. For example, 42690 would be HL690 Waugoshance, MI.

I think the "under number 200" refers to the last 3 digits being #197 or less. For example, 42197(HL197) would be the highest number of the 18 Limited Editions under #200.

The Artist Proofs all start with AP and then the HL number. For example, AP456 would be Ocracoke, NC.

Guardians of the Night are identified by GN in front of the HL number such as GN003 Cape Hatteras.

For some HL pieces they would have more than one available--thus the "Total of 64 different pieces-119 in Total".

No edition numbers are mentioned.

Maybe our Webmaster could find a way to put the information in columns like the original email came from LD.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/19/12 07:46 AM

The sale email indicated they had a lot of pieces under 200 -- I assumed that meant the 'serial number' was under 200 - but max is probably right - it's the product number that's under 200.

Work with what I posted. It's not too hard to figure out. Most of the rows reflect 2 products. Or email LHD and tell them you want to be on their email list.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/19/12 03:32 PM

Max is correct in that the "Under 200" means the HL number is under 200. I called this morning and had Rhonda verify with Don about this question.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/20/12 04:06 AM

I find it interesting that there are Waugoshance and Cheboygan Crib pieces left. They were all pre-sold, so only the correct number should have been made. I am supposed to have the last one, which was (as I recall) #519. So, the 500 minimum order size would have been met but I don't think they were enforcing a minimum in 2005.

What may explain the pieces would be that they were unnumbered spares to be used if any of the pieces were damaged. So, if these are pieces without numbers they would be really interesting.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/21/12 04:46 AM

I wonder if these Cheboygan Cribs could be replacements that they reordered to replace the ones with the misspelled signs and broken trees. they did not require us to return the broken ones.
I thought they ordered enough to replace all of them.

did anyone get their requests ? they called me at noonish and left a message that they had 2 of the seven I requested but didn't say which ones. My cell never showed a missed call and didn't show a message until (over 4 hours later) after LH depot closed, Thanks Sprint ! So I won't know until Monday what they were

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/23/12 07:59 PM

Mark - I sent my list out at 2 PM on the 18th asking for 6 pieces. I haven't hear from them at all so I might not have a chance if you asked for 7 pieces and only got 2 of them.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/25/12 04:22 AM

I ordered 9 pieces on 6/19 at 7:31 AM.
Out of the 9 I got 4.
The ones I got were: AP502:Stonington Harbor; 130:Portland Breakwater; 160: Cape Meares; 234:Fisgard.
Among the ones I missed on were Cheyboygan Crib, Split Rock, Three Sisters, 14FT Bank, and Assateague.

Mark - If the HL519 is a duplicate to what you already have, I would be very interested in buying it from you.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/26/12 08:41 PM

I received an email from HL this morning saying they had some sort of error on the inventory sheet, and they do not have a AP stonington for me after all.

I got a HL519 about a month ago, #3 and signed by Harry. Went to look at the boat trim, and it is yellow and black?

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/30/12 01:39 PM

Well.... Of the 2 pieces I was told I got, I ended up with zero. When the box arrived yesterday it contained a HL 528, not the HL 519 that I ordered and was told I got. And kudos to the postal service for taking a 6x6x6 box and converting it into a 5x5x5 box along the way, I am sure they don't have a 519 to replace it with, I'll call Monday and see what they want to do it.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/30/12 09:22 PM

So Mark, I'm confused at your above. Do you mean there was not even a Stonington Harbor in the box and the only thing that was in there was a HL528 instead of an HL519? Did they charge you for the Stonington?

I also received my shipment arrived yesterday. My AP225 Hillsboro Inslet was in great shape but my AP502 Stonington Harbor was packed inside it's box like some kid packed it. One of the chimneys was snapped off and loose inside the plastic bag. They had put the Stonington inside a plastic bubblewrap envelope and placed 2 bags filled with foam peanuts on each side of the Stonington but nothing on the top or bottom of the piece. The Stonington was bouncing around all inside the box. They credited me my money and told me to keep the Stonington. Now I have a damaged Stonington (that I have repaired) but it is totally without value now that it is repaired.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 06/30/12 10:15 PM

A day after I ordered the two pieces, they emailed me that they had an error on their sheet and did not have a stonington for me after all and credited me back on the stony and then sent the wrong pt fermin, so of the two I thought I had... I got neither

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 07/01/12 04:20 AM

At least you got an e-mail that they did not have Stonington. My order arrived yesterday and I did not receive a Stonington AP either. They did not charge me for it but I got zilch for news from LHD that I would not get it after they told me I had one.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 07/01/12 04:37 AM

When I went through the pieces I did receive, there was one that had something I had not seen before. It is a Cape Meares, OR with no edition number ( /9500) on the flag. At first I thought it was an unnumbered piece to use to replace someone's damaged piece, but then I found out why it is not numbered. When I looked at the bottom label, it says it is an "Artist's Sample". That was quite a shock. So not getting the Stonington AP does not hurt so much now.
Posted By: flacoastie

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 07/01/12 01:52 PM

Randall - Does the Cape Meares have a label on the bottom typical of the rest of HLs or is it just blank felt with a label that says Artist Sample?

A "Counter Sample" as Harry refers to them has just plain felt with notes written on the felt or on plain white labels on the bottom. If there is no regular label with the HLs normal info then you have probably what is referred to as a Counter Sample/Artist Sample and there are only 2 of these done (one for the factory and one for HLs to approve the painting format before going into full production.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 07/01/12 04:44 PM

When Harbour Lights moved to Maine Harry started having 3 Paint Samples done, one for the factory, one for him in California and one for the Home Office in Maine.. It had been 2 Paint Samples, one for him in San Diego and one for the factory..

I have been getting an AP for shooting pictures for the website and promotion since 2003, then starting in 2009 Harry had a fourth Paint Sample done and he sent it to me to do all of the images for Harbour Lights.. This enable the images to be done at a minimum of 2 months sooner and sometimes almost 6 months ahead of release..

Getting these Paint Samples (signed by Harry) has really capped off my collection..

Rich,

When I get home, I will post exactly what the label says here. If you would like a picture, I can take a shot of it and send it to you. I have a couple other Artist Sample's but there was no label on the bottom of those so that is why the label surprized me.

Randall - I would like a picture of this piece. I sent you pictures of the Paint Masters and Counter Samples that I have to compare yours to. I'm sure that the "Artist Samples" and "Counter Samples" are the same only different terminology.

Re: LD "discovers" 119 HL - 07/02/12 05:25 PM

Randy - I sent the pictures to Harry this morning and he replied that you actually have an Artist Proof and not a Counter Sample. He said that sometimes they would have an "AP" on the flag, sometimes they would have nothing on the flag and sometimes they would have a label on the bottom. All this information was in a phone call and I have forwarded the email response to you.
