Wacko pin

Wacko pin - 03/01/00 01:24 AM

Just keeping you posted. I called the pin rep. last night to see how we were doing; and he said about a month more to get the sample out to myself or Lamar. Spring is probably their busiest season for making pins, as spring and summer conventions order pins; groups like the Lions award their pins in spring and at their world wide conventions; charity groups order pins to sell for their summer fundraisers, etc. etc.

So hang tight, they will be coming. The good news is that this delay gives all the newbies even longer time to post and become a wacko and eligible to order a pin. Bottom line, more pin sales then, and more donations will go to Morris Island.

Please read my posting made today on "How ANYONE can help the Morris Island fund". It is a book review whose author is willing to send Morris a $4 donation from each book we order. This is open to newbies, wackos, and anyone else who sees the posting and wants to help out. It really is a neat little book, so consider it seriously for yourself and as another way to help out a lighthouse.

Thanks a lot and Keep the Flame Burning.

PS Our NELL club will be hearing that phrase in person from Bill when he comes to us on June 3 in Groton, CT, to give a program and sign unlimited number of lighthouses, including Cape Hatteras on the Move which will be available in advance for anyone coming to the event. (see the CLub News Forum for more details).

Dave: Thanks for missing me! It's nice to be back. Yep, we did it again.

Three years ago we went to China for two weeks and brought back a beautiful 9 month old baby girl. Time goes by so quickly, and she has just had her fourth birthday 03 Mar 00.

This was such a rewarding experience that we went back in January for another two weeks and another beautiful baby girl. This has, as you may expect, kept me very busy. There is so much to do: feedings at 3:00 am, preparing meals, explaining Santa Claus, keeping curious fingers out of the Harbour Lights cabinet, and so on.

So, while I may not have been active with lighthouses, I've been very active with two "lights of my life"!

Way to go Bob. Maybe an explanation of the situation with baby girls in China is in order so those reading your post can appreciate what you have done. Who knows maybe someone else in the forum could do the same. God bless you! You are truly a saint.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Steinbrunn family! What a great January you surely did have. As an adoptee myself I really appreciate what you have done for your daughters. I am familiar with what Dale is speaking about, and your daughters are truly blessed to have you and your wife come into their life. Enjoy your new daughter and we'll look forward to seeing a book review when you can sneak one in.

Bringing this thread back to the top to attract more attention on how to help Morris Island's restoration by book purchases.
