Carmen Slice Memorial - Please Read - 08/19/00 05:05 AM

Down in the Personal Time Forum you'll find a message about a Memorial to Carmen Slice that a few of us are working to establish.

Carmen was the fiancee for Digitalman (Mark Lutton) who died in the fire at Mark's apartment a few months back.

Please take a minute and read this thread:

The total is now $357 for the Carmen Slice Fund. We will be continuing to take donations through the month of September. I realize how great this group of people is everytime I get an envelope. It's not the size of the donation, it's the heart that sends it that matters. Now, forgive me for getting sappy.

Check back in a few days. There may be a surprise.

If I may be so bold - I would like to guess at the suprise. Some great company or some great family wishing to remain behind the scenes, will match our donations dollar for dollar. I may be wrong - I often am.

A wonderful couple who wishes to remain nameless has donated a retired limited edition to be sold on the forum. Their wish is that all the money goes to the Memorial fund. I've got to tell you, I had to read their note to me three times to make sure I read it correctly. I received the piece today and will post it for sale this weekend.

This is truly a generous offer by a wonderful Mr. and Mrs.

Well Gee - I was sorta close on my guess. I can't wait to see what the piece is.

Thank you in advance to this lovely couple.

The piece is now advertised on the Forum Marketplace. It is a St. Simons L.E. I have looked at it and it's a beauty. I never expected to see a St. Simons L.E., much less hold one. If you've been wanting one, now is the time to get it.

It's sold - thank you.

I hope it went to a good home. Seems someone was just waiting for it to be posted. I missed it by being a good boy and going to church this morning.
