Final Wacko pin order has been sent to China

Yes,the Wacko 2000 pin order has gone off to China, based on what you Wackos actually ordered, plus some extras for new graduates; newbies who will achieve their 50 posts by late spring; and for any wackos who may have been out of town and missed the ordering procedure. If you fit these descriptions, be sure to get your order into Lamar. We cannot order any additional pins. This is a beautiful and unique collectible pin that any Wacko will be proud to wear. Remember that the pin profits will go to a good cause: the Morris Island restoration fund.

Pins should be arriving to Lamar in about 8 weeks, so that he can send them on to you.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the "wacko" pin project to make it become a reality. All your efforts are greatly appreciated. I'll be watching for my pins to arrive in the mail.

Is there an exact date for newbies to gain "WACKO" status for this year or is it just until the pins supply run out?

Inquiring minds want to know. How many pins were ordered?

We ordered the minimum the manufacturer would allow, 150 pins.

We're still taking orders from Wackos while supplies last.

At this writing, we have paid orders for 124.

In addition, several have emailed me that they want one but I haven't yet received payment.

Two people neglected to tell me their email address or their Wacko name and searching these Fora have not revealed to me who they are so I'm about to return their checks since I can't verify their status.

So that's the status today.

Thanks for your diligence of the committee in this arduous task.
I know that the end result will more than justify the means, in your eyes when it is complete.
Just picture, at the next HL event seeing all those pins attached to WACKOS!

Thank you all for your expressions of gratitude. Although I may be the most visible committee member at the moment, Barbara Hupp (ladylightkeeper), Darlene Cook (ladybug) and Henry Hupp (foghornkeeper) deserve your accolades, too. They’ve put in many hours on this project from conception to a successful conclusion.

In addition, St. John Chidester and Rod Watson worked hard on the pin design based upon St. Paul Brady's photos of HL's Morris Island Then and Now set.

I thank them all for their hard work getting this project to where it is today.

Boy, those pins do look nice! Excellent job. I'm thinkin' for us newbies, maybe just a guy standing on a dune with nothing but a bic lighter in his right hand, outstretched high above his dome as if telepathically willing the ships to steer clear...or maybe just because "Stairway to Heaven" just came on or something...you know.

Put me down for a pin because now it's official!
This should be my official 50th post and therefore grant me the privilege to order the WACKO pin. My order form and check is in the mail to Lamar as I hit the "Submit Reply" button

They could be in time for Rosemont. I found out yesterday they're coming directly to me from the manufacturer. I have envelopes already addressed and ready to mail as soon as I receive the pins. I'll post a message here when they arrive. Should be anytime within the next two weeks or so.
