Moving Day

Moving Day - 06/04/02 06:31 AM

Well Tuesday is Moving Day. The 4 men and 2 trucks from Two Men & A Truck are supposed to arrive at 8 AM. Everything is pretty much ready for them -- except my office.

I'll have to tear down the 2 PCs, 2 printers, 2 scanners, TV, VCRs, fax machine, etc. And probably won't have them set up again until late on Wednesday.

Dave is going to be Hosting the Chat Wed night at 9 ET.

Cable and the cable modem supposedly will be in Tuesday. However, the phone service won't be ready for one week. (We have Qworst here in AZ.) And I'll have mostly new telephone numbers to remember.

See you all on the other side.

John,

You are having email problems. Don't know if this is the move causing the mailboxes to be full or there are other problems, but you are an "invalid recipient". (That opens up a whole new line of discussion, but we'll get to that later.)

Thanks, Dave. Yes I am (having email problems.) The ISP doesn't want to recognize my email password.

Moving is ohhhhhh sooooo much fun, isn't it, John! My sincere condolences. We've made major moves several times... Houston to Cary, North Carolina, Cary to Kalamazoo. The most recent move more than filled one semi. I was glad we were being moved by my new employer, but it's still a ton of work regardless. Hope you get everything unpacked and back on line, and your ISP recognizing your password without too much hassel.

They say moving is right up there in the list of stress producers. It was 1984 when we moved cross-country from Michigan to Arizona. With that kind of long-distance move, you really have to plan everything out.

We moved 9 miles this time and it was easy to drive back and forth to retrieve the stuff that the movers didn't pack.

My email is FINALLY working again. The mailbox wasn't full, Cox somehow labeled my account as "not in service".

Glad to know that the transition from one place to another went smoothly for you and your family, John. Now I know why the email was sent back to me, I'll resend it.

After packing the HL up to move, the next time I move, the decision is to let someone come in and mark all belongings for sale, have a huge sale and then take the $$, go buy new furnishings, and let the stores deliver the goods.

We moved from NC to VA then back to NC then back to MD then to Jax., FL(all moves on the Army) then to Tampa Bay area(on the company). Our final move was across town and we have been there for over 25 years. Those moves, with all the belongings were enough for me. In comparison, I am sure, many of you have moved a lot more times than I.

Derith
