I am starting the Fresnel collectors club.

All you have to do to be a member is to have at least one Fresnel Lens or want at least one Fresnel Lens.

I like to hear from you and answer any of the following questions.

1. Are you a new Fresnel collector or established or a want to be.

2. Do you have some, whish to have some, have many, have almost all or have all but the Harry Lens. And of course the super duper collector that has them all.

3. Do you have the Harry Hines Fresnel Lens.

4. Do You still collect or a partial collector who lost interest.

5. Which was your hardest Lens to find.

I'll start off by saying I have each Harbour Lights Lens as I was on Autoship with the Bronze Lady Shop in Orlando, FL. They closed their doors just before HLs went out of business.

I am also on Autoship with Harry Hine so I have his lens also.

None of mine were hard to get since Autoship was the only way to go then and now if you want one of everything made. I also have the 8 Christmas Tree Lens Ornaments and they may be my favorites of all the HLs lenses besides Harry's Lens because his is a special order lens in a very small quantity even if it makes it to his planned production of 300. I believe he is now somewhere around 25-30 being produced.

You have a point about the Fresnel Lens Ornaments. I was just thinking L.E. But we should also consider the ornaments.

We have a few of the lenses in stock. We post them as we can acquire them and they usually sell quite quickly. The inventory changes constantly so be sure to keep checking back if you don't see what you are looking for.

I have the 11 Harbour Lights lenses and they are still displayed. No ornament versions. Did not know about Harry's lens until seeing this thread, and it does look good (thanks Roland for the link).

Jones Point was one I wanted after the adventure my wife and I had trying to get to it on one of our trips through DC.

And I once resolved to get all the Fresnel LEs that Harbour Lights released. Harry is HLs, right?

But! I'm a not collecting these days. I enjoy the lenses and NJ & FL pieces that I have displayed. There is just no room for anything more.

Rick - Caught you not reading both the 05/01/17 and 12/01/17 Volumes that I put out. Harry's Volume 2L shows pictures with a complete write-up on the Toledo Harbor Lens.

Harry's lighthouses and Lens are in no way associated with Harbour Lights. They are produced by Harry under Harry Hine Studios.

You got me Rich! Your volumes are a great research resource for anything and everything Harbour Lights. And that is the way I use them. They don't read too much like a Michael Connelly 'Bosch' story for me though.

I do know that Harry has a new company for his latest efforts. He is also forever linked to all things Harbour Lights too. That is what I meant.

Happy New Year!

Rick

The reason there has not been a formal announcement is they take so long to produce one (about 15 hours from start to finish that Harry didn't want to get snowed under with orders.

I have 2 of the first 5th Order Fresnel under glass and most of the lens ornaments. I've never been a big fan of the "blinkers" but I did buy the Umpqua River Light, OR Lantern Room piece...I just never turn it on...

I have donated my lens collection to the Pottawatomie Lighthouse on Rock Island State Park in Wisconsin. They will be on display to educate visitors about the different orders and styles and the history of the Fresnel lens.

Well I started this post so I should participate. I have the one HH lens and all the HL Fresnel lens but one. That is the Boston. They are all either single digit of double except two of them.

Congratulations, Daniel. Do you also have the lens ornaments?

I always liked the lenses. They were truly beautiful models, much as the Fresnel is beautiful in real life. I actually recall seeing at least a couple lighthouse museums that used one of the HL lenses as part of their exhibits

I have 4 of the lens ornaments just because I got a good deal, $25 for 4 in box. Not an ornament collector but with a deal like that I couldn't go wrong. I left the other four that was on eBay for $25 for someone else to have a good deal and would just buy the other 4 at a later date. Since that they have just got higher and higher in price. there is no way I will Pay $50 for one ornament Lens. I have seen them as high as $65 a piece.

That is a little pricey. Maybe I need to dig out the ones I have and sell them! My wife years ago came up with an idea to use a couple as pulls on the chains for our living and dining room ceiling fans. Actually worked pretty well.
