Which lighthouses have their own gift shops on the grounds?

No limit on how many you can post at one time. If you know, please indicate if they carry Harbour Lights and/or Little Lights. You might be able to check the dealer list at www.HarbourLights.com.

I'll start with a newly opened lighthouse and include a couple of others from my trip to the Michigan Regional:

Pt Betsie, MI - in one of the station's out-buildings. T-shirts, pins, post cards, surprising amount of stuff for just having opened.

White River, MI - within the lighthouse. I believe they carried HL, not sure though.

Old Michigan City, IN - Within the lighthouse. A few things. Not sure about HLs.

I'll do some in the Southeast:

Ponce Inlet, Florida - Got to be one of the biggest gift shops at a lighthouse! Harbour Lights - yes!

St. Augustine, Florida - Nice size gift shop, not quite as big as Ponce! Harbour Lights - yes!

St. Simons, Georgia - Not large, but a nice array of gifts! Harbour Lights - yes!

I'll do a couple from the Midwest.

Grosse Point, IL - very small gift shop (books and pictures). no HLs

Old Michigan City, IN - I know John listed it but just to clarify, no HL's (Appears I stand corrected - didn't see them last time I was up there)

Big Sable Point, MI - Nice little gift shop, HL#228 for sale.

I can think of 2 off the top of my head...

Currituck (at least it did...not sure how this legal wrangling will affect it...) and Key West. The last time I was there (summer of 2001), they both had gift shops that sold HLs. Key West had only a few (Ft. Jefferson and a couple others), so I am not sure if they still sell them.

Maybe someone can confirm this...

Ft. Niagara has a small one.

Charlotte-Genesee has one a bit larger.

Selkirk has a large one in a separate building. There are a couple Selkirk HL's there. Don't know if they're for sale.

Dunkirk has quite a large one in a separate building. Can't recall if they had HL's.

Saugerties did have the Saugerties HL for sale when we were there in 1999.

Tibbets Point has one in a separate building.

Esopus Meadows doesn't have a gift shop but they set up a bunch of stuff to sell during various events. They did have the Esopus Meadows HL for sale last fall.

Hudson Athens I believe does the same thing. Don't know if they have the LE to sell or not.

Horton Point, NY
Marshall Point, ME
Cape Neddick, ME (in the parking lot that overlooks the lighthouse)
Spring Point Ledge, ME
Portland Head, ME
Pemaquid, ME (there is a gift shop/restaurant next door to the lighthouse)

OCRACOKE IS VIEWING ONLY I UNDERSTAND THAT IT HAS BEEN SOLD AND IS NOW PRIVATE PROPERTY THE LIGHT IS MAINTAINED BY THE COAST GUARD.

A LOCAL STORE VERY NEARBY SELLS SOME LOCAL ARTS AND CRAFTS OF THE LIGHTHOUSE. NO HARBOUR LIGHTS

This needs to be clarified. Ocracoke has not been sold. Ownership was transferred from the Coast Guard and Ocracoke has now come into the Cape Hatteras National Seashore; the National Park Service is making plans for its care.

There has never been a gift shop attached to the lighthouse grounds, but there are many gift shops all over the island.

Thanks everyone. As you now know, I did have a specific interest in knowing this information (www.LighthouseStickers.com).

I've been sending out kits to gift shops. Last week 20 went out. Got my first order from Calvert Marine Museum last Thursday! Drum Point Magnets.
