I ran across this new program called Archive Creator that makes it superly easy to archive picture files to CD. You might want to check it out.

Agreeing that it is not that difficult to copy files to a CD, the program does add value for photographers, imo. Features include support for the Canon and Nikon 'RAW' formats (and many other formats), the ability to span photo batches across multiple CDs and the creation of a quick gallery view on each CD in an HTML format so you can easily see what is on each one using a browser. I downloaded the trial copy and it is very straightforward and easy to use. Writes to CD-R but not CD-RW.

When you come upon your cat, deep in meditation, staring thoughtfully at something that you can't see, just remember that your cat is, in fact, running the universe.
