Lighthouse Ghost Walks of Casco Bay, Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Two Nights only! 2 Walks per night!!!
October 9, 2004 and on October 23, 2004 at 6:45 pm and 7:45 pm
Portland Head Lighthouse, Fort Williams Park, Portland Maine.

100% of the proceeds of these walks to benefit the East Tower of Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse. $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for kids under 12 years old. Enjoy an autumn Candlelight walk at Maine's Casco Bay and hear local lighthouse history, legends and lore by a cloaked guide. Walk alongside glowing pumpkins and view the lonely lighthouse beacons as they shine their lights into the night. Reserve your space today - these walks sold out quickly last year in Portsmouth, NH. This is the first time in the history of the park that it will be open for an event after sunset, so enjoy this rare opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful views of Maine at night. Groups limited to 50 people per walk. Bring your own flashlight! Event is rain or shine - except in the event of severe downpours. Each tour will take about an hour. Make it a fall weekend getaway in Maine, where the foliage along the Maine coast is breathtaking. Stay at the beautiful Inn By The Sea in Cape Elizabeth. Space is limited so call today, mention the Lighthouse Ghost Walk for a great disounted rate! Visit the Inn By The Sea website online www.innbythesea.com or call (207) 799-3134.

Marblehead, Mass. Lighthouse, you will always have a very special place in our hearts. ....We've made the journey as far south as New Jersey, as far north as Canada. Over 100 lighthouses visited.... and so many more to go.

These nights were definately memorable. The first night the Queen Mary II was in Portland, and as the walks proceeded, fireworks lit the skies of Casco Bay, as a salute to the QMII. A stunning view from the lighthouse took your breath away. On the second night of walks the waves around Portland Head Light were approximately 15 feet high. The thundering sound will always stay with me. You could feel the spray of the ocean while standing on the steps of Portland Head Light. With the beam of the lighthouse passing overhead it was magical. One group that came on the second night of walks, drove over 200 miles one way from Rhode Island (they were proud of their On-Star navigational system, and put it to the test), after their walk, they turned around and went back the same night. There's really something about the allure of Lighthouses. $1200 was raised for the American Lighthouse Foundation from these two nights. Hopefully Cape Elizabeth Light will get the paint and repair it needs soon.
