The local Barnes & Noble here in Scottsdale doesn't stock many lighthouse books, but I did find one today: "A Beacon of Light".

This is a very small "Peter Pauper Press Pocket Gift Edition" of quotations under the theme "Paths to Wisdom".

The quotes are inspirational and thought provoking, but it's the lovely little watercolors by Wendy Wegner, mostly of lighthouses, that caught my eye.

ISBN 0-88088-116-X $4.95

Here are a couple of examples:

Quote:
We spend the first half of our lives looking for success. The second half, we look for significance. At the end of the race, you want to be able to look in the mirror and say, "This was a life well lived."

Dave Valle

Quote:
If you are what you do, when you don't you aren't.

William J. Byron, S.J.

Quote:
There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.

Edith Wharton
