Bill will be at "Seasons" in the Arnot Mall in Horseheads on Sat, July 22nd from 1-3pm.
Was thinking about ordering the event piece and having it shipped but I.O. wants to go! Maybe he wants to see who was hugging me at Rosemont! He also wants to have the Lady Liberty piece signed. He seems to be hung up on this one.
When I called today to reserve the Hatteras piece I was told they have ordered 48 and I am the 27th person to reserve one. Is this a typical number? As I've never been to a store signing I really don't know.
Anyone else planning to attend?

Was planning on attending Horseheads event but received a postcard stating Bill will be signing at the Dory, in Youngstown, NY on Friday, 7/21 4-6 pm. This store just recently started selling HL's and is only about 45 minutes away.
Anyone planning on attending?

Just west of Binghampton, north of Elmira. Straight run out Route 17. Or take I84 to I81 to Rt 17. About 250 mi and 41/2 hrs.(for you)

We will also be at the signing in Youngstown NY on Friday 7/21. The Dory is just down the road from Ft. Niagara lighthouse. They have a limit of 3 pieces to be signed per person. Hope to see and meet other HL wackos. Donna & Roger

Thanks Dennis for the info. That is a bit too far. I picked up my HOTM HL the end of June in Cape Cod. We were vacationing there a couple of weeks after the event. I had decided against the actual event because again it was a 4+ hour trip.
Met Bill last year at Stony Brook the event the same day. Hope to see him again at the reunion or a closer regional/event.
Donna
PS Thanks for the Jersey lighthouse tour pamphlet. Hope we can make it!

We had a very nice signing event today with Bill and our local rep, Paul Sullivan, who I am happy to say has a great relationship with our local dealers and is most cooperative in dealing with everyone involved in collecting Harbour Lights. Mombo and IO attended as well as lots of non-connected collectors and we have several potential members of our new collectors group. Bill told us some great stories and it was a most enjoyable afternoon. Jim Johnson

As Jim stated, this afternoon at Seasons in Horseheads, New York was a nice time. Although he and I were the only two "connected collectors" who attended it was great to talk with other collectors in the area.
I got a kick out of one couple who kept leaving the store and then coming back to ask Bill one more question. Every time I looked they seemed to be either coming or going!
There was one young collector who must have thought I was an official of some sort as I had so many badges and pins on me. Bill had a few of the seahorse pins on his table and this young man asked *me* if he could have one! Naturally I gave him one!
Something else I couldn't help but notice was that some of these folks didn't seem particularly knowledgeable about the lighthouses that they collect. Another young man purchased a Longships (Lands End) light and was waiting for Bill to sign it. I commented on how much I liked that particular HL and said to him, "And this is the closest you're ever going to get to this light too". He said, "Why, is it gone"? At that point I explained it's location and how it now has the heliport on it as do other British lights.
Obviously we who have gotten so involved in the actual lights throught the forums and the WWW have a real advantage here.
If we are sucessful in getting a club started we can hopefully help some of these collectors better understand just what these HL's represent.
