Anybody heard any word yet as to if the Jordan's are shipping?

Anybody receive one of these gems? Should be hearing something very very soon as the remaining 2009 "Summer Releases" are now shipping!

If Jordan is numbered and the numbers are given out by which post cards are received first, starting with the lowest, then the dealers should have all received thier pieces at the same time to make it fair. This did not happen as some dealers still do not have the final summer pieces!
Anyone who's dealer received thier pieces at the beginning of the month has the advantage!

I just talked to the folks at Harbour Lights and it does not look like these are going to ship anytime soon. They said that they do not even have them in stock. They where saying something about a January time frame, but they where not real clear on that.

Wow ??? I thought these would have come in with the last shipment.

Maybe there waiting to see the total request for these before shipping them to us. January is the deadline for sending in your receipts.

If you read the June Musings, it suggests this may be the smallest edition size ever.. That suggests to me that the run size probably hasn't even been decided on yet. This is not insider information, I am just guessing that they will make the production run as close to the deadline time as possible and not many, if any, extras will be produced..

A Very Special Gift From Harbour Lights
Introducing HL805 Jordan Point, VA
Is this destined to become the “ultimate” Harbour Lights limited editon?

That is how the announcement is titled in the Musings!

Since I don't get musings, what is this about and what must I do to get one?

To get your free Jordan Point the first thing you have to do is buy 6 of the 8 limited editions introduced in the summer. This does not include any of the limited editions introduced the 1st part of the year, only the 8 limited editions introduced during the 2nd part of the year. This does not include Society Pieces, In-store or Regional event pieces either. You send the receipts for these 6 pieces along with their serial numbers to Harbour Lights along with one of the postcards included with the 2nd half releases. The rest is done by Harbour Lights.

When you send in your special card and receipts, I think it would be a good idea if you requested your auto-ship number, if you want it, at that point. Can't hurt.

With so many variables such as those expressed above, I think auto-ship customers should be able to receive their auto-ship numbers if they want it. Then put the rest of the Jordan Point requests in a random drawing for the remainder of the numbers.

I mailed in mine a couple of weeks ago and have heard nothing yet. Has anyone got a postcard saying that the entry has been recieved in Wells? It would seem nice to acknowledge the receipt of the entry. It looks as though no one will hear from them UNTIL it is too late to resubmit it.

Bob - Let your fingers do the walking at 1-800-365-1219 to make sure your entry was received. The cutoff date is sometime in January so the Jordan Points probably won't be available for some time after that.

Paul,

Could we see a comparsion shot with something else next to it?

Jordan looks very similar to the size of this year's Duxbury.....

HL805 comparison to HL804 and HL804TH..

Your wish is my command, boy now I am doing requests...

The Duxbury is slightly taller but they are very similar in overall size. The diameter of the HL804 is about the same as the diagonal of the HL805 and the base of the HL805 is just a pinch bigger than the base of the HL804 except for the little rocks part sticks out about 3/8 of an inch on the HL804. Whew!!!

If you have a Fort Washington Bell Tower you are basically looking at it. Its measurements are just about the same.

Comparing HB901 Fort Washington Bell Tower to HL805 Jordan Point Light..

The bases of the two are almost exactly the same circumference. The HB901 Fort Washington Bell Tower grassy area is taller, while the HL805 Jordan Point tower is a lot larger and taller...

Good to know that it is a little more tower and a little less base. Thanks Paul for the comparision I sure didn't expect to see that.

Looks nice, a little small, but still nice.

Since it's free(I was buying all the required replicas anyway), I'm happy with it.

Paul, Thanks for the pics !!!

Boy do I feel that I have been totally screwed by this Jordan Point offer. First I had to buy six lighthouses I did not want to get one I did. This offer was made in the last half of 09 and would not cover any of the winter 09 pieces which I had bought that I did want. Harbour Lights would not consider at that time making it retroactive to the winter of 09 pieces as they should have done. I then sold the unwanted summer pieces on eBay for a large loss just to get the one piece I still wanted. I made peace with the way the rules were and played by them.

NOW THIS. I DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE WHO CHANGE THE RULES IN THE END OF THE GAME. It is not fair to the people who bought like I did and played by the rules. I could have cut my losses if the winter of 2010 was made part of the deal in the beginning as there are things I want there, but that was not part of the deal then.

Harbour Lights reasons for changing things are weak and some of them would not have held water in the beginning of the offer. Let’s get to what I believe is the real reason for this change, which is that as it stands now with the old rules Harbour Lights will have to destroy a very large number of them and they do not want to do that.

Harbour Lights must know what they are doing will cause issues because of the rewards they are offering. These do nothing for me as I am not a numbers guy and I do not collect New England pieces even rare ones like this one.

I say stick to the terms of the original offer as people made decisions based on them. That is the honorable thing for Harbour Lights to do.
