Stopped by a local dealer in Connecticut and discovered that the display piece was missing the "bell" from the bell tower. We checked a second, unopened box in the backroom and discovered the same flaw! Interestly, the piece was not inside either boxes, if damaged during shipping. These pieces were numbered in the #800's. Collectors purchasing pieces should check closely to see if their pieces are intact.

Thanks for the heads-up. Mine is #2367 and has the bell firmly attached. Terry

I just checked out my Hendricks Head ed. #87, and the bell is where it is supposed to be.

Now the question is, have you discovered a variation or a manufacturing defect?

Bob

When we turned both pieces over, it appeared that something (ie the bell) broke off. We checked the previously unopened box but could not find the piece. Since the brochure showed a small bell, I had the saleslady call HL to confirm that the bell should be on the piece, and they told the dealer to destroy the 2 pieces (#833, #834).

Good news is that it appears that this is an isolated incident.

Great looking piece but too large. the 2002 HL's will not fit in my already crowded curios, but will work nicely as individual pieces on lamp tables. While I am holding space for the someday release of North Block Island, I hope that piece will not be 3x the size of the Southeast Block light already released.

I saw one today that the tower was loose from the base. After picking the piece up off the shelf, I was able to push it back in place. It could have come loose during shipping. I told the store owner about it. I bought the other one they had in the storeroom which was perfect! Bell intact!
