Tell me your opinions.

Do AP's have more value then numbered LE's?

If so How much more?

Would you think $300. to be a fair price or too much, for any one piece in the range of LE's from 160 to 240?

Getting an AP is a process of being in the right place at the right time. I personally think $300 is on the high end for an AP. Some are available through raffles from HL but there are a large number in the hands of reps and stores. Some can be had at retail or a little above if you're patient. I waited many years to get my first and another collector offered me one a real good price. I also stumbled across a few on ebay about 6 months ago that were not prominently marked that they were APs and came up with a below retail price. No one else bid on them.
I was so convinced I was being duped that I kept it to myself until they were delivered to my home. There are a lot of stories about forum members walking in a store and finding one displayed. Even one before it was released. So unless you need to spend your money right away, I'd be patient.

Bob -- a "large number" is a bit misleading. No more than 15 APs are made. Fewer these days because to receive an AP a rep needs to have a showroom and some rep companies have closed up showrooms, as I understand it.

Many fewer APs are made for pieces such as Regional Event, In-store Event, Society and Christmas items since HL doesn't take advance orders for these so they don't need to be shown in advance.

Once a lighthouse has been released, the rep company is free to dispose of their APs in anyway they want. Some donate them to stores to use at events, some keep them, some sell them.
